Ontario-Montclair School District Ontario-Montclair School District Food & Nutrition Services Food & Nutrition Services Summer time in California offers an abundance of locally grown produce that kids love. From juicy strawberries to crunchy carrots, summer provides an excellent opportunity for schools to partner with local farmers. OMSD Food & Nutrition Services partnered with Huerta del Valle Community Garden in Ontario, CA. Organic produce was provided with curbside meals at Kingsley Elementary and Oaks Middle School from June 21-25, 2021. Families enjoyed fresh beets, peaches, kale, cabbage, kohlrabi, squash, and onions. Special events during the celebratory week included Kingsley Elementary distributing sunflower gardening kits and the San Bernardino Department of Public Health visiting Oaks Middle School. The Public Health Department really "turned up the beet" by showing us their yoga moves and providing our families with healthy summer recipe books. 1 cup fresh mango 1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt 1/2 cup milk Peel and dice the mango, then freeze for at least 30 minutes. La temporada de verano en California brinda gran cantidad de productos cultivados localmente y que además a losniños les encanta. Desde las jugosas fresas hasta crujientes zanahorias, en el verano hay muchas oportunidades paraque las escuelas colaboren con los agricultores locales. El Departamento de Servicios de Alimentos y Nutrición sesolidarizó con Huerta del Valle Community Garden en Ontario, CA. Los productos orgánicos se repartieron concomidas en la acera en la Primaria Kingsley y en la Secundaria Oaks del 21 al 25 de junio de 2021. Las familiasdisfrutaron de betabel (remolacha) fresco, durazno, col rizada, repollo, colirrábano, calabaza y cebollas. Se realizaroneventos especiales durante la semana de celebración y en ellos participaron la Escuela Primaria Kingsleydistribuyendo kits para la de siembra de girasol y la visita el Departamento de Salubridad Pública de San Bernardinoa la Escuela Secundaria Oaks. El Departamento de Salubridad Pública realmente "subió el tono" mostrándonos susmovimientos de yoga y repartiendo a nuestras familias libros de recetas de verano de alimentación sana.

Pelar y picar en cuadritos el mango, y después congelarlo por lomenos 30 minutos. Colocar todos los ingredientes en una licuadora y licuar hastaque la consistencia sea cremosa.
