JANUARY 17, 2016 • QATAR

First Breast & Bowel Cancer Screening Centre

The opening of the Al Wakra facility signals the formal start of the Breast & Bowel Cancer Screening Program, a population-based cancer screening program also known as ‘Screen for Life.’

The core objective of ‘Screen for Life’ is to save precious lives by encouraging women aged 45 years or older with no symptoms to receive breast cancer screening through mammography. The campaign also calls on both men and women aged 50 years or older with no symptoms to receive bowel cancer screening through FIT (Fecal Immunochemical Test). The Supreme Council of Health recommends breast cancer screening every three years and bowel cancer screening every year.

Both Mammogram and FIT are generally considered safe, quick and relatively painless.

The opening of the very first Breast & Bowel Screening Centre in Qatar finally inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Minister of Public Health, HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Khulaifi, Assistant Secretary General for Administrative Affairs at the Supreme Council of Health, along with other high-ranking health officials from the public healthcare sector.

4th International Conference on Radiation Medicine

The previous conferences were successfully organized in 2010, 2012 and 2014. The last ICRM conference, ICRM2014, was conducted jointly with the Annual Meetings of both the Radiological Society of Saudi Arabia (RSSA) and the Saudi Society of Medical Radiological Technologists (SSMRT). These concerted and integrated organizations strengthen further the overall program for this major scientific event.

The primary goal of the ICRM conferences is to bring together renowned clinicians, scientists and other health professionals to share and discuss the current clinical applications and future innovative approaches in the field of radiation medicine. The ultimate objective is to create an environment conducive to promoting basic science, applied research as well as clinical applications in radiation medicine.

ICRM2016 Organizing Committee welcomes and encourages all interested people to avail of this unique opportunity.

• Quality Control in Mammography reading and reporting workstation monitors. (Workshop)

Hands on Screening Course combined with Multimodality

Diagnosis of Breast DiseaseFUJIFILM Middle East as the major sponsor of this event.

The event was held in Iranian Hospital. The staffs and doctors of the hospital were very accomodating & hospitable. They gave their best to assist us on this big event.

Two seminars successfully held in Iranian Hospital Convention Center entitled “Hands-on Screening Course” combined with “Multimodality Diagnosis of Breast Diseases with Emphasis on Breast MRI” and also One-Day Seminar entitled “Mammography Positioning” with Elie Harfouche.

We did Hands-on Screening Course, Multimodality Diagnosis of Breast Diseases with Emphasis on Breast MRI & Mammography Positioning.

The purpose of the said seminar is early detection of cancer cells through Breast MRI and Mammography. It was attended with Radiologists, Surgeons, Pathologist and Radiographers all around the world at Iranian Hospital Dubai Convention Center with Guest Speakers are Prof. LÁSZLÓ TABÁR, MD, FACR (Hon) Course Director and Dr. MATS INGVARSSON, MD.
