Inks and Fading Resistance
● Faber uses dispersion inks of highest quality available
● During “steaming” after printing the pigment is absorbed by the polyester fiber, resulting in highest rubbing and scratching resistance
● Colorfastness : ISO105-B02 test : 20 hours of UV light in dry conditions : test results of 6-7 on the blue wool scale of 1 to 8 ( 1 point more means double time to fade the same amount )
● Weather resistance : ISO105-B04 test : 600 hours of UV light in humid conditions : test results of 6-7 on a scale of 8 ( very harsh and expensive test )
HOW DOES FABER SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE MARKETING ?
1. Faber prints only on polyester fabrics. Polyester can be 100 % recycled into bottles, carpets, construction materials or other fabrics
2. Faber uses only water soluble dyes, not solvent based, and free of heavy metals.
3. Water usage is minimised by a high degree of recycling, and waste water is treated before being discharged
4. Process steam and hot water is produced using LPG or natural gas, the cleanest of all fossil fuels
5. Fabric waste is sorted and re-used or recycled. Examples of re-use :
● Farmers use the fabric as nets to protect their crops● Fabric waste being woven to produce hammocks
