F&F A FURNITURE & FITTINGS SKILL COUNCIL INITIATIVE Issue 3 F&F AN EYE TO FURNITURE: A QUATERLY JOURNAL OF FFSC ISSUE: 3 JUNE-JULY – AUG From the CEO’s Desk Dear Reader, Hope you all are doing well. The year 2017 has been a great year for Furniture & Fittings Skill Council. We have completed two years on 15 th July 2017. This is the time for us to evaluate our performance, achievments and our progress. I believe in these two years of our venture we have come out as a credible Sector Skill Council. On 1 st July 2017, our Government has introduced Goods & Servcies Tax (GST). There has been a mixed reaction among the manufcatures and suppliers of our industry. We have to wait for sometime to visualise the impact of GST. Besides our regular Training of Trainers (ToT) programme, we did ToT for Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Mission (MPSDM). We also started our Training of Assessor’s programme (ToA) for the Assessors of our empanneled Assessing Agencies. We also conducted our 1 st Meet of Assessement Agecnies. It was a great knowledge sharing experinece for all the agencies. The issues and possible solutions releated to assessment were discussed. Shri B L Meena, Joint Secretary, Minsitry of Social Justice & Empowerment visited our training center of Gangapur for interacting with the trainees of National Safai Karmacharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC). I am pleased to share 12 new QPs have also been added in our job role list. The QPs can be referred at our webiste. Lastly, as always we look forward for all your support for the skilling activities. Warm Regards, Gurpal Singh
