We are offering our entire 2014 born bred heifers (no exceptions) and a select group of open heifer calves. The breds are the best of the best of the 135 heifer calves born in 2014. These are good footed, long spined, deep bodied heifers. They are structurally correct and will have excellent udders.

Our program is all about raising high performance bulls for commercial cattlemen and these are the type of females that get the job done.

The Brown families that operate Lone Stone Farms at Westlock, AB, have succeeded in having one of the more reputable Simmental and Red Angus Bull Sales in Northern Alberta. They operate a cowherd numbering in the 300 range and are now ready to venture out and have this, their first female sale. They, along with ourselves, believe there is enough depth to this cowherd to allow ALL OF THE BRED HEIFERS, Red Angus and Simmental, with their own tattoo to be sold and be the feature element to this fall female sale.

The Lone Stone breeding philosophy revolves around an incredibly strong herd bull battery. Many of you I’m sure have noticed the investments made on acquiring herdsires by Lone Stone Farms. They take this job very seriously and research and invest in the bulls that they believe can better their breeding program. The scenario has been working very well, as is noticeable by analyzing this sale catalog and their past recent bull sale catalogs.

I’ve always believed that maybe the best “cow family” is a group of sisters sired by the same bull. I know that’s the reverse of what a “cow family” is traditionally defined by, but it is a great way to access a cow family that can produce herdsires via the top side of a pedigree instead of the bottom side. This sale will allow that as the females are sired by the good walking bulls at Lone Stone Farms.

We invite you to the beautiful indoor heated sale facility at Lone Stone Farms, only 4 miles North of Westlock, to join us for this sale.
