Our major event for 2014, the Whisky Awards brings together producers,

distributors, agents and malt enthusiasts to celebrate the very best in malt whisky

from Scotland and Australia. Come along and get a chance to try all o the

competition entrants and catch up with fellow members.

The craft whisky distilling scene is burgeoning in Australia. Next issue will feature

short articles about four of the newest, all of whom have only begun distilling in the

last 18 months. Featured Distilleries will be Blackgate Distillery, Mendooran NSW,

Redlands Estate, Plenty via New Norfolk TAS, William McHenry Distillery, Port Arthur

TAS and Steam Exchange Brewery, Goolwa Wharf SA.

Section 10.4 of the MWSoA Constitution states:

Written notice of not more than 28 days and not lessthan 7 days of all General Meetings shall be displayedat the premises of the Association and distributed to allMembers who do not visit the premises regularly.

So here’s the official notice.

The AGM will be held at the Rob Roy Hotel, 108 HalifaxStreet, Adelaide at 3.00pm on Saturday 19 January 2014.

All positions are declared vacant on the day and are up forelection, so if you want to stand for office or want to have avote on who should represent you and you’re in Adelaide onSaturday 19 January, please come along.

Of course if you can’t make it on the day you can nominatefor the committee and/or apply (using forms available on thewebsite) for a proxy vote and assign your vote to someonewho will be there. You have to be a current financialmember of the Society to do both.
