    How do we fast?

    Why do we fast?

    What does fasting mean?

    Who should fast?

    When do we fast?

    Where is fasting done?

We fast because Allah has told us to do so.

    1

Every Muslim should fast, but there are some people who are not required to fast such as young children, the sick and travellers.

    2

Fasting means to stay away or to hold yourself back from something. In the same way, people stay away from food and bad deeds when fasting.

    3

We fast by not eating or drinking anything from dawn to dusk. But that's not all. Fasting also includes staying away from bad deeds and habits.

    5

Compulsory Fasting takes place during daylight hours in the month of Ramadhan.
