    M: my passion and research led to learning that tactility has the most powerful impact on human emotion,

    from a survey that i conducted the main conclusion is that people find their moments of happiness from

  • B: being surrounded by people. the relationships we build with others provide love through friendship and family while strengthening self appreciation.

    M: we both were interested in making environmental pieces and

    once we realized our objectives aligned, we decided to join forces to create an installation that utilizes both of our topics of interest

  • M: and even from an early age brionica has always been hands on, and full of joy.

    B: and we want to spread it with the world.

    Our Interactive Panel Would Include Instructions And Also Educates The Audience On The Topic Of Touch And Happiness.

    And As A Take Away, A Branded Item Would Record Our Audiences Sources Of Happiness

  • B: so for our branded system we want to graphically represent dierent sources of positive emotion through shapes, color and sound.

  • B: The installation would engage the audience, like these examples, while incorporating the visual system

  • M: an arduino would allow our installation to be interactive with conductive materials

  • B: heres a video, to give you an idea of how the people can complete a circuit resulting in sound

  • M: first we went into creating our branded system, we started by exploring the brand mark

  • a touch of happy.

    M: heres our solution.

  • B: where weve got the insides like inner personal feelings, and then the outsides for your sense of feeling. and boom, together all of the feels

    M: we then developed our shape system for our sources of happiness. from our research and answers from the survey. weve narrowed it down to ten. so we have faith, love, accomplishments, creativity, stress-free-ness, meaningful work, family and relationships, beer, optimism, and last but not least puppies and kittens.

    B: we wanted to stay true to the psychological science of happiness but be light hearted and playful with the inclusion of beer and puppies.

  • M: our take aways are going to be 2x2 stickers each with one of the ten facets of happiness. this way we can collect user feedback of what makes them the happiest by how many are left over.

  • B: these were some of our initial ideas for the installation by having a podium and wall mounted interactive piece.

  • M: but then we realized it would be better to have a table installation, for construction sake and also the fact that it would provoke collaboration more prominently.

    so on one side there would be the explanation and instruction panel, then on another side a rail to hold the takeaways for people to pick from.

  • B: our FEEL logo would stand up vertically in the middle of the board serving as a visual invite to our table, it would be constructed from transparency sandwiched between the black wood outline. the sound shapes would be dispersed around the logo encouraging people to connect with each other to reach the other side of the board.

    M: now that we figured out our exact construction, we went on to figure out how the hell we were going to get our wood shapes to be conductive. we purchased conductive paint but its super expensive, so we had to problem solve.

    B: we did some trials and testing and created our own version of conductive paint with graphite powder and black ink. let us show you how it works
