Appropriate installation of this enclosure is necessary to prevent water ingress, as this may have a detrimental effect on the performance of the enclosure and any equipment it contains.Ritherdon & Co recommend the following:

bury to the ground-level indicator mark or to the top of the plinth, if separate; seal the base with a minimum 6 mm layer of epoxy resin (or other impermeable

material), preferably over a bed of dry sand; seal any conduit ends with expanding, polyurethane foam.

Periodic oiling of the locks and hinges is also recommended to maximise their service life and the gaskets should be checked for damage whenever the door has been opened.
