President’s Report The Events Committee has been fairly active in the past month, giving us opportunities to socialise and enjoy activities. The Car and Coffee combined event was very successful and resulted in a good donation to the Lucindale fire appeal. The car run and hunt for information was a different idea and great fun. We’ll have to do it again sometime. I know that everyone will agree that we are going to miss David Munn. He was one of our longest serving members and when looking around the club we see numerous reminders of his input. He was a quiet, gentle achiever, always ready to lend a hand and offer helpful advice. Even in his latter months he endeavoured to show his interest in the club. We offer our condolences to Tanya and her family and hope they will continue their interest in the club. There has been recent interest in the Swap Meet. Some members feel we could hold a lower key meet with less expenses and avoid the Covid impact. The committee are holding a meeting tomorrow night (Tuesday 23rd) and will bring their findings to the general meeting Thursday 25th. See you at the meeting. Graham Henschke, President.

Cars and Coffee Hi all, what a great day we had on the 14th Feb! There was beautiful sunshine for the 55 cars that were on show. Coffee, egg and bacon sandwiches and great prizes kindly donated by Mini Jumbuck, Repco Ncte, Southeast Motor Co, Ncte Automotive, Drews workshop, Ncte Hotel, Mike from Wurth and Graham Henschke. Thank you everyone who came along. We have raised $917 for the Lucindale fire appeal. Thank you to all the locals and non-locals that joined in. Thank you to all the members of the Naracoorte Historic Vehicle Club and Naracoorte Cars and Coffee that worked so hard to make this so great. Well done!! From Bruce MacDonald

Car Run Observation Search

The weather was warm and enthusiasm was hot as we set off on our hunt for answers to

questions asked by the MacDonalds. It’s surprising what you drive pass without noticing until

you’re made to look. Did you know that Naracoorte is spelt with a double ‘r’ on the Pioneer Park

train sign? There were things to find out around the caves area too and of course a stop for

refreshments.

On we went towards Hynam finding names of propertied, chimney stacks, driveways and other facts. We ended up back at the clubrooms where we enjoyed nibbles and drinks. Everyone said what an enjoyment it was even if there were a few marital harsh words over directions and answers. Winners were the Rileys, second were the Jardines and third the Henschkes. We finished the day with a shared tea, of food left over from the funeral, and a few more drinks. A big thank you to Sam & Bruce and family for all their organisation. We would love to do another similar run. Rileys turn to organise.
