So many times when I’m given the gift of someone’s wisdom and expertise, I get overwhelmed. I wonder, how will I ever “repay” her? I’ve learned a valuable lesson in Mary Kay. In our company we learn that the best “payment” is to “pay it forward.” What I know is that in this Future Area we’re developing powerful women. We’ve got a group of emerging leaders who will “pay back” what they’ve learned to thousands of women during their MK careers. That’s a legacy we’re going to be proud of. Believing we can, Dear Scintillating Superstars, Pay backs, pay it forward, pay checks, pay in full, payment due. “Pay” certainly is a powerful, multipurpose word. Recently, National Sales Director Halina Rygiel did a “pay back” for me and agreed to come to our Linens and Things Event. Our Future Area consultants were “paid” for their efforts with an invitation to attend. A record-breaking number, sixty-eight of us, crammed into Reed’s office, to listen to Halina’s story and training. Halina is an immigrant from Poland with an accounting degree, but because she spoke no English, she cleaned houses. When she was offered the MK opportunity, she armed herself with 4 dictionaries and translated the MK consultant guide. Her journey was filled with adversity. I love when she told about the time she moved from a Cadillac to a Grand Prix, and she kicked the tire. Did a set back stop her? I think not. She’s now a National with two offspring Nationals in Poland. Take a look in the Applause Magazine under Pearl and see a monthly “paycheck” of $31,000. What did she offer us? She gave us the tools, and then asked the consultant winners to step forward with a commitment to help us in our quest for directors.

She explained what is needed and offered everyone the option of stepping up their activity level and moving up the Career Ladder. “Payment” is due in June. I’ve got a CD of that day’s commitments, I’ve got the group picture, and I’m reading my offsprings’ newsletters with GREAT interest these days. I want to see who will “pay in full”

and be on target for their cars, ready to enter DIQ, or debuting as a director in June. We need you all if we’re going to reach our projected date of July 2010. We’ve got a group of emerging leaders who

will “pay back” what they’ve learned to thousands of women during their MK careers. That’s a legacy we’re going to be proud of.

Believing we can,

Dear Scintillating Superstars,

Pay backs, pay it forward, pay checks, pay in full, payment due.

My Dream Corner… I’m dreaming of the day when there won’t be enough room in my house to sleep all the winners of Bed, Bag and Beyond. I’m dreaming of the day when there won’t be enough room in Reed’s office to fit all the winners of Linens and Things. I’m dreaming of the day when all the winners have moved up the Mary Kay ladder and feel like they’ve used the gifts they were given and are ready and willing to pass them on.
