Spring is in the air! I believe that Spring is the best time of the year. The days are
getting noticeably longer, the sun feels warmer, and it’s becoming easier to get
outside and fill our lungs with fresh air. It is a time to get started on those pro-
jects we’ve been putting off for far too long. There is a reason for this thing called
‘spring-cleaning.’ For the Christian it is also the time of year when we celebrate
the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is the day of rejoicing! It is our day of lib-
eration and grace. Because Jesus lives we have the hope that we, too, shall live
forever. He is Risen! May your time of celebrating the Lenten season be a time of
quiet reflection and listening to the voice of our Heavenly Father.

Challenge from the Chair. . . Sandie and I just returned from the SDMI Leadership Conference in Charleston, South Carolina where we were challenged
by Dr. Woodie Stevens, Dr. David Graves, Dr. Bob Broadbooks, and others. It’s a great day for Sunday School and Disciple-
ship Ministries. This time I’d like to mention a few random items … Pastors and Sunday School Superintendents, please remember to report your stats at the end of every month. You can go
to the district newsletter to do so. Here’s the link: http://indydistrict.org/sdmistats/
Pastors, be sure to elect delegates to this year’s District SDMI Convention. This is new on our district but this year we are
moving the SDMI business from the District Assembly to our convention. We will need your delegates in place to vote on
April 5. Follow the instructions in the SDMI Handbook or the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene. If you are needing information or instructions for SDMI, go to the denomination’s best-kept secret:
www.thediscipleship.com. There you will find all kinds of vital helps for your Sunday School and other ministries. Finally, plan to be present on Saturday, April 5 at Indianapolis Grace Pointe for our 2014 District SDMI Convention. This is
not just for elected delegates, it’s a rally for all of us! You won’t want to miss! These are great days of spiritual growth on the Indianapolis District, and it all begins with Sunday School!
