2016 RECITAL FULL DRESS REHEARSAL AT NAZARETH HIGH SCHOOL A SHOW: SATURDAY, JUNE 4 TH FROM 10:30AM-9:30PM B SHOW: SUNDAY, JUNE 5 TH FROM 12:00PM-9:00PM *Dress Rehearsal is a full day event of a run through of the recital on stage, in full costume. We need all students present for their assigned rehearsal time to go over staging, entering, exiting, and their performance on stage. All students will receive a schedule by the end of April. The schedule will let you know what time your rehearsal will be. All rehearsals will run in the order of the Recital Line up (posted on the studio bulletin board) and will be approximately 15-20 minutes long. Students will need to arrive at the high school 30 minutes prior to their scheduled rehearsal time incase we are running ahead. If we are ahead, students will take the stage earlier than their scheduled time. **Full Dress Rehearsal means students are to attend in their full costume (this includes proper hair, make up, tights, clean shoes), and they must wear a costume cover up upon entering and exiting the high school in addition to anytime while inside the building and not on stage. Consider this as a practice run for the actual recital weekend. There will be no exceptions. Everything you need to know will be posted on the bulletin board and on our website (with the exception of anything that contains students names). From now until the end of the season, there will be quite a few order forms with deadlines, important costume, hair and make up information, picture week schedule, dress rehearsal schedule, etc.

RECITAL PACKET The 2016 Recital Packet was distributed the week we returned from Winter Break. Please check your son’s/daughter’s dance bags if you did not receive one. If you are in need of this very important packet, please see Nicole for a hard copy or you can view and print the entire packet on our website under the Recital tab. IMPORTANT: This is a very important packet of information regarding the recital, recital rules and recital order forms (tights, t-shirt, music, program ad, tickets & DVD order forms). Please read through the entire packet and mark the order deadlines on your calendar. We realize that for some of you this is all new and a bit overwelhming, so please ask us if you have any questions at all. We’d rather you ask than to miss out on something J All order forms (except recital tickets) can be turned in anytime from now through their due dates. Cash, Credit Card (Visa, MC or Discover) or Checks will be accepted. If you are writing a check, please add all orders together and make one check payable to EOD. *Exception- The recital DVD order will require a separate check payable to Mike Reiners.

STUDIO BULLETIN BOARD Don’t forget to stop by the studio bulletin board for the following:

• RECITAL LINE UP o Make note of what Part and Number your son/daughter is in, and confirm that their

name is spelled correctly in addition to listed in the correct class. Make any changes directly on the line up.

o Check back frequently as things may change. o If you notice your son/daughter has a quick change (3 number or less in between their

routines), please let the office know so it can be noted. If this pertains to you, you will receive a “Quick Change Pass” that will allow you to change on the side of the stage.

• RECITAL T-SHIRT CAST LIST o Proof to make sure your son’s/daughter’s name is listed and spelled correctly. Make any

changes directly on the line up. This list will be printed on the back of the recital T-Shirt. • 5, 10, 15 YEAR DEDICATION AWARDS SIGN UP • If this is your 5th, 10th or 15th recital at Expression of Dance it is your year to receive an award!

A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board. *You must sign up to receive your award. Sign up deadline is Saturday, April 9th. For students who take more than one class, please choose between a dancer, gymnast or twirler for your trophy. You can only receive one.

• COSTUME ALTERATIONS SIGN UP o If you son/daughter needs costume alterations, please sign up on the studio bulletin

board. The seamstress will be at the studio in March and April for anyone that needs alterations. *Payment (Cash or Check payable to Fit ‘N Image) is due at the time of your appointment.

ORDER FORMS DUE IN FEBURARY RECITAL TIGHTS: Due to the office by Saturday, February 20th. *Due to the high volume of tights we will be ordering, all orders must be turned in by the deadline. Please note, Revolution Brand tights can only be purchased through the dance studio. This company does not sell online or to dance stores. All students must have their required tights for picture week, dress rehearsal and the recital. THE ORDER FORM IS IN YOUR RECITAL PACKET OR CLICK HERE TO PRINT A TIGHT ORDER FORM. RECITAL COSTUMES COSTUME BALANCES Costume balances are due by Saturday, March 5th, 2016. *All students received a costume balance invoice in their class the 2nd week in January. This invoice reflects your balance due after your $50 costume deposit was applied.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payment can be made at the studio office, placed in the drop box by the office window, mailed to the studio or online on the parent portal. A 10% late fee will be applied if payment is not received on time.

*If you signed up for costume balance auto pay, we will process your credit card on the due date--please call/email/stop by the office if you are unsure if you are signed up for this.

**CASH, CREDIT CARD OR CHECK PAYABLE TO EOD** COSTUME ARRIVALS Costumes are arriving and will continue to through the beginning of April. Costumes that have arrived will be posted on a sign by the office window and on Facebook. *Parents should stay if it is your son’s/daughter’s week to try on costumes—you will be called back to go over the costume. COSTUME ALTERATIONS All costume alterations are done at your own expense. If you have any questions on the costume, please see your son’s/daughter’s teacher. We will have a seamstress at the studio in March and April if you need alterations done. Please sign up on the studio bulletin board.

EXPRESSION OF DANCE 7TH ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER & SILENT AUCTION (Benefits the Sheena Villa Scholarship Fund) We invite you and your family/friends to please be our guest and join us on Sunday, March 20th for our 7th Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction!! We hope to see you there! A packet of information including ticket and event t-shirt order forms, and donation and sponsor letters went home with all students in January. SHEENA VILLA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS All eligible students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to apply for the Sheena Villa Scholarship! You are eligible to apply if you have never received the scholarship, even if you applied in the past but did not receive the scholarship. All students in grades 9-12 will receive the application this month in their class. The application has changed from last year, so please read the application carefully to ensure you submit everything correctly. Scholarship recipients are high school students of Expression of Dance who best represent the passion for dance and free spirit of Miss Sheena. Scholarship winnings will be used towards lessons at Expression of Dance, or if the student is graduating it will go towards their college tuition. ATTENTION: ALL EOD STUDENTS We need your help! In preparation for our annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction we are working on putting together a basket from all of our Expression of Dance students to auction off at this year’s dinner. *All proceeds from the dinner benefit our scholarship fund. Scholarship winnings are available to all students who are in grades 9-12. More information on the application process will be distributed this month. Even if you are not eligible to win a scholarship this year, in order to continue the scholarship for future students we are always looking for donations. Scholarship donations are accepted any time throughout the year, not just during the dinner.

EXPRESSION OF DANCE STUDIO BASKET THEME: “Gift Card Tree” WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

v Donate a gift card (any amount). Please put amount on the gift card. Ideas: Gas, Giant, Sweet & Sassy, LV Mall, etc.)

Team up with your classmates and plan to enjoy dinner together on Sunday, March 20th!!! This is a great opportunity for students to get together outside of the classroom.

***The winning class will earn a Cupcake Party!!!*** The 2016 Spaghetti Dinner Ticket Challenge will run from Monday, February 1st through Thursday, March 17th. Purchase your tickets today! Rules: Tickets must be purchased by Thursday, March 17th, 2016. *Tickets purchased the day of the dinner will not go towards the challenge.

LOOKING AHEAD • Recital Costume Notes- this packet will let you know how to wear your hair and make up with

your costume. Packets will be distributed next month. • Presidents Day- we will be OPEN for all classes on Monday, February 15th. • Spring Break- is scheduled for Monday, March 21st through Saturday, March 26th. However, if

we have any snow days between now and then, we will be making them up during this week. Look for additional information on make up days should we have to close.

• Recital Ticket Orders- will be accepted from Monday, April 11th through Saturday, April 23rd. • Grandparent Visitation is scheduled for the weeks of April 18th through April 19th. This

visitation is for Grandparents only. A specific schedule for these weeks will be distributed in March.

• Picture Week- Monday, May 16th through Saturday, May 21st. All costume alterations must be completed by this time.

• The studio will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 30th.

SNOW DAYS If the studio must close due to inclement weather, we will post the closing announcement on WFMZ 69 News, wfmz.com, Facebook, our website, email you, Instagram, and our answering machine. Please note the following: There may be times that the schools are closed in the morning, however if the roads clear up in the afternoon, we will be open for classes. Any classes that are cancelled will be made up in the spring during our scheduled Spring Break in March. This means there is no deduction from your monthly tuition since all classes will be made up.
