1-How developed are we?Asia won 19 out of 20 medals at the 2011 World Championships in Rotterdam!!!

In women’s singles top 64, Asia has 30 players that are just from 8 countries of only two regions. So 3 other regions of Asia have no any representative among world top 64 players.

In men’s singles top 64, Asia has 30 players that are just from 7 countries of only two regions. So 3 other regions of Asia have no any representative among world top 64 players.

This statistics proves that although Asia is very strong in table tennis but it is much less developed than Europe!

In fact if we separate China and few other eastern countries from the continent, the rest has long way to go.

3-Agreement of UnderstandingAgreement of Understanding is a contract

between the ITTF and the ATTU for creating opportunities for the development of table tennis in Asia.

The ATTU Development Officer plans, proposes and negotiates the agreement with both parties and after having the approval from both sides, make the draft ready to be signed.

ITTF President and the ATTU President sign this agreement as representatives of each party.

The ATTU Development Officer implements the program through the year.

-World Cadet Challenge: the Asian cadet team gets $20,000. support to participate

the World Cadet Challenge and the training camp prior to that in every year.

-7 Development Courses: Around 7 days- coach Education, training camp

, administrator’s , tournament director’s, or combination of above –the host

association receives $2500 and the expert salary and air ticket is also provided-

the host association shall provide standard quality hospitality for the expert.

-1 Women’s Course – (same as above)

-2 Youth Camps – (for talented U21 Asian players of developing countries)

-10 Packages of Equipment Assistance per year

provided by the CTTA (each package $5000 – two package per region)

ITTF/ATTU allocate courses maximum once a two year per association. Therefore to have courses every year the associations are recommended to apply for Olympic Solidarity Courses through their NOC.

Olympic Solidarity Procedure

1-National Association applies to National Olympic Committee [NOC] for a course2-NOC submits course to Olympic Solidarity in Switzerland (Section of IOC)3-Olympic Solidarity asks ITTF to nominate an expert4-Airfares and salary of the expert is paid through ITTF5-Experts submit “Technical Report” to NOC and ITTF
