Marnie Uhl, CEO

Mother Theresa said “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can to GREAT THINGS.” With this in mind we three Chamber executives sat down and brainstormed working to-gether on potential projects to impact our businesses and community in a huge way. Our first collaboration is a Customer Service seminar presented by International speaker, trainer and David Aaker. Adding to the mix was a corporation who sees the value in a regional partnership and APS came in as our title sponsor. We are very excited about this outstanding program and the very dynamic presenter we have engaged. Full story is on the front page however I wanted to include here to make sure I thanked my fellow Chamber execs and APS for this great support and collaboration!

Our Business Academy has begun and we filled the class. The presenters have been spot on and the edu-cational value is off the charts. Thank you again to APS for their support of this annual Chamber educa-tion program.

January is done and now in the rear view mirror. Did you make goals, reso-lutions or plans? If not, how about start-ing a couple for your business plan? Set aside time to read the Chamber news magazine; join us for a Power Hour lunch or Business after Hours mixer; schedule a meet with myself or my staff to check-up on your Chamber membership invest-ment benefits. We are open for business and our business is you!!

Have a great month and sending Hearts to my Business Valentines!

Celebrate Life Health Expo 2018: New Location and New Activities!Mark your calendars for a weekend of fitness, food and fun

on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3, courtesy of Yava-pai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) in partnership with the Northern Arizona Suns and the Prescott Valley Event Center.

“We were delighted when the Prescott Valley Event Center approached us about holding YRMC’s Celebrate Life Health Expo 2018 – our community’s premier health festival – at the event center,” said Ken Boush, YRMC Director of Marketing and Communications. “It was an easy choice because of our strong relationship with the folks at the Prescott Valley Event Center and the Northern Arizona Suns. It’s good for the com-munity, too, since 2018 is YRMC’s 75th anniversary.”

Join people from throughout the community on:Friday, March 2, 7:00 p.m. – Cheer for the Northern Ari-

zona Suns as they take on the Memphis Hustle at the Prescott Valley Event Center.

The NAZ Suns will salute YRMC for its 75 years of ser-vice during the game, which is designated as YRMC 75th Anniversary Night. The Boys and

Girls Club of Central Arizona (bgccaz.org) – the game’s designated local non-profit organization – also will be fea-tured the same evening. Purchase game tickets at northernari-zona.gleague.nba.com/schedule.

Saturday, March 3, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Explore these Celebrate Life Health Expo “neighborhoods” for fun activi-ties, healthy living tips and tasty (and healthy) snacks.

• Kids and families • Heart health • Healthy living and wellness • Nutrition • Volunteer opportunities • Community resourcesNearly 70 organizations will participate in Celebrate Life

Health Expo 2018. And even better, Celebrate Life Health Expo 2018 is free.

Watch the NAZ Suns Scrimmage and Help Your Commu-

nity On March 3, Expo guests will also get an inside look at professional basketball as the Northern Arizona Suns scrim-mage at 11:00 a.m. during Celebrate Life Health Expo 2018.

“This year, we’re asking Expo guests to bring items to help out local non-profits doing great work in the community: Prescott Area Shelter Services (PASS), Prescott Valley Food Bank and Prescott Community

Cupboard,” Boush said. “PASS is in need of household items and toiletries while the food banks need non-perishable food items.”

Below is a list of items you can choose from to bring to the Expo for donations. It’s a good opportunity to help your neighbors in need:

Household Supply Drive for PASS (Prescott Area Shelter Services)

• Trash bags • Toilet paper • Paper towels• Coffee • Laundry detergent • Dishwasher detergent • Cleaning suppliesFood Drive (Prescott Valley Food Bank and Prescott Com-

munity Cupboard)• Canned or boxed non-perishable items.Look for more information about YRMC’s Celebrate Life

Zounds Hearing Sam Thomasson, founder of Zounds Hearing, under-stands the problems facing the hearing impaired very well as his daughter experienced hearing loss as an in-fant. “I know the frustrations of using hearing aids that don’t work properly. My daughter Katherine struggled to understand and vocalize speech. Hearing in noisy envi-ronments like a restaurant or car was especially difficult. Her hearing aids would often squeal and cause her pain. As an electrical engineer, I knew that if she was to have the kind of life she deserved, I had to do something about it.” Zounds Hearing is the culmination of years of effort to successfully achieve those goals.Much of Zounds’ success has been attributed to its ability to eliminate up to 90% of background noise. “Being able to hear in social situations, such as a family gathering or dining out has made such a difference in terms of quality of life for Kate and our customers,” says Thomasson. “Our customers tell us the combina-tion of noise reduction, our rechargeable battery station, same day service as well as our competitive pricing make us their first choice in hearing aids.Zounds Hearing, 7680 East Highway 69, Prescott Valley, (920) 719-7440
