An awareness programme for Adolescents

Students of classes V and VI are at a very crucial stage of their lives. They are poised at the threshold of transforming from childhood to adolescents. This is particularly important for the girl child since the changes are more prominent and have physical, social, emotional and even religious implications. They need to develop an awareness about the various changes they are about to face and be ready and equipped to handle the transformation. With this aim in mind, Dr Neelvanti Soni, a gynaecologist with Apollo Hospitals and Clinic was invited to interact with the girl students of classes V and VI on 24th January in school. She addressed the students with the help of a power point presentation and dealt with the various aspects of puberty and adolescence. Thereafter was the Q & A. They were absolutely un-inhibited and raised their queries . Students were also instructed on the way the school is equipped to handle any situation that may arise and how hygiene is of utmost importance in such a scenario.

The month of February is a gentle reminder to bring down the curtains of the academic session. The session has indeed been a memorable journey. As quoted by Martin Luther King, Jr 'The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge.'

We at DPS Hyderabad are all set to face them!
