Currently Is- 5) Clinical Supervisors in problem gambling treatment programs must be a Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor level 2 for a minimum of two years, an have completed a minimum of 10 hours of clinical supervision training.

Should be: Clinical Supervisors in problem gambling treatment programs must meet the requirements for clinical supervisors in either mental health or substance use disorders treatment programs, and have completed 10 hours of gambling specific training within two years of designation as a problem gambling services supervisor.

AMH Updates (cont.) Internet Gaming Policy and Data Collection

ORS 413.522 states that all moneys in the Problem Gambling Treatment Fund are to be expended for programs for the prevention and treatment of gambling addiction and other emotional and behavioral problems related to gambling and for the administration of the programs.

Clients can be seen for internet gaming addition if internet use problems are related to gambling.

No variances for internet gaming addiction will be approved. In the meantime, AMH leadership has asked that we collect data to

determine need and options of changing language within ORS 413.522 or develop policy option package for funding during future legislative sessions.

2014 Gambling Programs Evaluation ReportLag Time: •The average number of calendar days system wide between the call date and the first available appointment was only 3.8 days.

•As expected, including client delays for convenience, the lag increased to 6.2 days from initial call to first seen.

•During the report period the residential program experienced a significantly shorter period between first call and first available appointment than last year (13.2 days compared with 22.0 days reported last year).

•The lag time for rural clients was significantly less (3.3 days versus 4.1 days in the metropolitan areas)

2014 Gambling Programs Evaluation ReportLength of Time Enrolled•Of those discharged from outpatient treatment, 7.9% were with waivers to the annual cap, up insignificantly from 5.8% last year.

•There have been 2,992 outpatient gambler discharges since January 1, 2012. Of those 186 had waivers and of those with waivers, 136 (73.1%) completed successfully.

•There were 2,806 gambler discharges without waivers. Of those, 910 (32.4%) completed successfully.

•The average length of time gamblers were enrolled in outpatient treatment was 144.6 days up somewhat from the 138.5 days previously reported.
