We will sing Purim songs, followed by the reading of the Book of Esther in English by members of the congregation. Congregants will make noise with their gragers and stamp their feet whenever the name of the villain, Haman, is mentioned. IF YOU WOULD LIKE A READING PART, LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PARTS WILL BE ASSIGNED ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST SERVED BASIS. ADMISSION IS FREE AND NO RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. HOWEVER, WE NEED SPONSORS TO PAY FOR THE HAMANTASCHEN, BEVERAGES, BREAD PRODUCTS, ETC. FROM THE PRESIDENT: The nominating committee of Sandy Lempert and Linda Post are charged with presenting a slate of candidates for officers and board members whose terms end June 30, 2013 at the Annual Congre-gation meeting on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT ONE OF THESE PEOPLE BY THE END OF MARCH, 2013 TO EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST IN RUNNING FOR OFFICE. A slate of candidates will be mailed to every member in early May with an agenda for the meeting and a copy of the ballot if you are unable to attend the meet-ing. Nominations will be accepted at the congregation meeting IF the person nominated has agreed to be nominated. The new officers and board members will begin their terms of office on July 1, 2013 for two years. All the officers and several board member positions are open. Your participation is essential to helping Temple Shalom succeed and grow. Say yes, please!!!!! Beginning Friday, March 1, 2013, Shabbat evening services will begin at 7:30 PM. We hope this will attract more members and visi-tors. The board will re-evaluate the time change for services as needed. We have 48 plaques on the Memorial Board. The board will hold 120 plaques. Now is the time to order your plaques so that they are up and ready before the High Holidays. Each plaque can be ordered with a $100 deposit and the balance is to be paid within the year. All of us have listed someone on the Yarzheit lists on our applications. Honor these family members in Temple Shalom on the Memorial Board. Each month, anyone with a Yarzheit in the next month should receive a Yarzheit letter and a return envelope. Whether or not you are able to come to Temple on the date listed, your loved ones will be noted. It is traditional to give a donation to the temple when your Yarzheit is men-tioned. Please use the enclosed envelope. Saturday, February 23, 2013, Temple Shalom will host its annual Pu-rim Pot Luck and party. Come in costume! It is always lots of fun and noise. Our annual Passover Seder will be held on the first night of Passover, Monday, March 25, 2013. We expect a large crowd as usual. It is always a wonderful event so make your reservations now!!!! See the attached flyer. Guests are always welcome but we are unable to ac-commodate walk-ins at the Seder.

ONEG NEWS

I cannot believe its February already-the year is going fast! Hope all of you have lots of love on Valentine's Day! We have availability for providing onegs on: Feb 15, March 8, April 26 and all of May. If there is an occasion to celebrate, family or friends visiting, or a yahrzteit why not do an oneg to mark the event with your Temple family? And you also get the honor of lighting the Shabbat candles. You don't have to get fancy or spend a ton of money. A few snacks and a challah is all that's needed. The Temple provides the wine, grape juice and paper goods. Any ques-tions, just ask me!
