Members’ Letter Dear Member, Overleaf you will find our February 2012 schedule for Gateway. Speakers Corner: Krystian Fikert from My Mind has been invited by the Gateway membership to speak on the 6 th of February at 1.30 p.m. come along and find out about My Mind. Gateway Low Cost Counseling Launch: Kathleen Lynch, the Minister of State for Disability, Equality, Mental Health and Older People in the Department of Health and Department of Justice, is coming in to launch Gateway’s low cost counseling which was funded by ESB Electric Ireland on Wednesday 15 th of February at 4.30p.m. in Rathmines Pembroke Community Partnership. All members welcome. Outreach is due to commence shortly, if you would like to bring the message of Gateway to new people why not become involved. If you are interested in being part of this let Helen know during drop in or on 4965558. Remember what life was like before Gateway, when you didn’t know about it? We have had a few phone calls about the Wednesday meet up in Copan, sometimes nobody turns up. If you are interested in going along on a Wednesday be sure to make concrete plans with others beforehand in drop in or exchange numbers with other members. Minutes of the Members Meeting of the Gateway Project on the 9 th of January 2012. Chair: Derek W 1 Welcome: Derek W chaired the meeting and welcomed all the members. 2 Minutes: The Minutes of the members meeting for the 12 th December 2011 were read by Mary B and passed. 3 Members Meetings: A discussion took place regarding why we have members’ meetings, the importance of these meetings and decision making as a group for members’ meetings. Members felt meetings are important and requested training for decision making. It was agreed Martha would look at putting in place training around decision making. 4 Speakers Corner: Members agreed that Krystian Fikert, Director of My Mind is coming in to speak to Gateway on 6 th of February. 5 January Speaker: Anne Doyle will come along on 23 rd January to speak about the various options available on the workshop provided by Anne and Gisela. Members will then decide what will be included in the workshop. 6 Christmas Meet Ups: A discussion took place regarding the success of the meet ups. It was suggested that a pantomime might be appropriate for Christmas 2012. This subject will be put on the October Members Meetings Agenda. 7 Update Monday Evening Sessions: Members are happy with the relaxation. 8 Gateway Trip: The details about the visit to Threshold Tallaght to see their wellbeing Cafe were discussed and agreed. 9 Members Discussion and Decision members Sign: Project Workers are facilitators was proposed by Tony m and agreed by all members. 10 Pool Competition: A discussion took place regarding two levels depending on your ability. It was agreed that two leagues will now be implemented. 11 Day Out: A discussion took place as to whether Project Workers can work evenings. There was no decision for February day out. 12 A.O.B. Mary Q spoke about ideas for newsletter i.e. horoscopes, positive quotes and invited people to contribute. Derek wrapped up the meeting by reading final notes on the agenda.
