Beside Sumatra Island, Java Island is one of the largest volcanic island in western Indonesia region, so that Java has high potential geological hazard of active volcanoes and high seismic activity. ● There’s a lot of geological informations contained by the series of outcrop construct a complete history of the lifetime of Java as the main volcanic island arc in western Indonesia. Methodology: ● At least, there are eight sites that will be explored in Jogja belong the Geoheritage. ● To give knowledge about activity of active volcanoes and high seismic activity residents around the sites.

Introduction:

● Due to the lack of basic knowledge and awareness some people live in a region with

Result:

● Some people in that area have knowledge about the active volcanoes and high

seismic.

● Some people will know about geoheritage in Jogja and also raise up the knowledge

about geoheritage.

Discussion & Conclusion:

● Java island has a high potential of geological hazard due to the presence of active

volcanoes and high seismic activity

● Now, some ordinary people must have knowledge about how the Java Island they

occupy are formed because its related with geological hazard.

● The geological informations contained by the series of outcrop construct a complete

history of the lifetime of Java as the main volcanic island arc in western Indonesia,

and it is called as “geoheritage of Jogja”.

● There are some sites that can be observe very closer because their high

accessibilities.

Comments:

I thought this paper has a good theme that bring us to keep attention to each

other people. Beside we are learn about geology, we also have to care about residents

knowledge in the area. Viewed from the methods and results, it is a good way to give

them knowledge. For example by visiting several sites in Jogja. Because Java Island

has a high potential of geological hazard, local people should enough knowledge

about geological activity in the area.

To explore geoheritage in Indonesia is very interesting activity. You also get a

rare experience. Indonesia have a lot of place that will be observed. Viewed from the

pictures in the paper, there are some pictures that explain Geological History column

of Java. And also Geological evolution of Java. The author explain about two

volcanic arcs of Java that form the “backbone of Java”.
