VALENDROME HOTEL

Objectives: The Valendrome Hotel is a luxury hotel located in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After 5 years, the Valdendrome Hotel would like to redesign their lobby, bar, restaurant and administration office. This is an individual hospitality design project on construction documentation.

Concept: The design goal for this project is to create a pleasing and beautiful atmosphere. I was inspired by the Fibonacci Spiral, or the golden spiral to create the lines in the floor plan. The Fibonacci Spiral is a mathematical sequence that also naturally occurs in nature, therefore is has the ability to inspire the most visually appealing spaces, objects, etc.

CAFÉ DEL ARBOL

Objectives: Strengthen skills in Google SketchUp and Sharderlight and create a small commercial building using necessary resources.

Concept: Café del Arbol is a quaint coffee shop located in a small town in Summit County, Colorado. Arbolmeans tree in Spanish and the name of the coffee shop is inspired by the lush trees that grow in Summit County. The lines of the trees inspire the lines of the space and the colors will make people feel relaxed and inspired about their daily lives.

MEDIA FRENZY

Objectives: Media Frenzy is an advertising agency that is run by three women principals. The firm’s biggest client is Daisy Guitars. The President, Tish Curavolo, came to Media Frenzy to focus on advertising to their primary audience –young women rockers. Media Frenzy is proud to work for Daisy Guitars because it seeks to attract young women to be in a creative field that is primarily male dominated.

Concept: Who inspires you? Who pushes you to the next level? The inspiration for the concept comes from a picture of the woman on the motorcycle. My group wanted to play off of the irony of a picture and create a vintage yet powerful work environment for the three women of the office and their assistants.
