Brian We always talk about how ministry in general is going, this month we want to focus specifically on what we are doing. In my time spent with some newcomers this month I have gotten the opportunity to sit down with them and ask a few important questions: Can you tell me your story? Can you recall a time when you made a decision to trust Jesus with your life? Where do desire to be in your walk with God? How can I help? In one case I had the chance to share the Gospel with a guy and he accepted Christ on the spot! We have been meeting weekly ever since to help him grow in his new relationship with Christ. In responding to “How can I help?” three athletes shared that they would love to meet weekly. As I continue to meet with guys on a weekly basis, God is showing me my inadequacies as a discipler which makes me turn back to Him for guidance. Please pray that I can shepherd these men well in whatever areas the Holy Spirit wants to grow them in. At the end of the day, my prayer is that all of the guys would not just learn more about Jesus, but fall more in love with Him. I have been leading the mens cross country bible study on Monday nights and a bible study with two runners from a local college on Monday evenings as well. Linsey Juggling life as a mother of 2, under 2, and being faithful to my passion and calling to see lives transformed by Jesus has been difficult. I have had to ask for guidance each morning as to how I should spend my time. My mentor has encouraged me to not be weighed down by guilt and not to try to do it all. Brian has been amazing with staying home with the kids 1 1/2 days a week while I am on campus. I get r e j u v e n a t e d b y m y t i m e i n discipleship. With two senior leaders I am taking them through the book “Emotional Healthy Spirituality”, preparing them to be lifetime labors for Christ in their post college careers. I am taking 2 track ladies that are on our leadership through what we call followups (worksheets that use sport examples to teach fundamentals of the faith). Our intern is working through the training manual and her area of desired growth is initiating spiritual conversations. This semester we are going out every other week to engage with strangers about their spiritual lives through creative means, like solarium (using photographs to get people to share their views of God).
