Facilitator Notes

 As the facilitator it is your duty to set-up, run and recover from the drill. You will have to act as dispatch and may need to act as the IC. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN IMPORTANT PART OF MAKING THESE DRILLS RELEVANT!!

SET-UP

• Ton cylinder and Dummies have been placed according to the diagram.

• Tyveks, smoke machine and extension cord are located in the third bay next to the Forcible entry prop.

• Dress dummies in Tyvek suits.• Attach hose to prop to simulate liquid leak.• Use compressor located in bay to simulate a vapor space

leak.• Set up smoke machine. (See next slide)• Request an OPS frequency from FIRE-1.

Smoke Machine Use

• Plug in unit. Turn on switch at back of unit. It needs about 10 minutes to warm up.

• The blinking light on the remote will blink slower when ready.

• Turn remote switch to on.• You should see smoke.• If it doesn’t work, just put it away.

Execution

• Have units stage per the diagram.• Conduct a quick meeting to discuss safety,

arrival order and assignments. • Have crews review B-kit. Answer any

questions crews may have. • Dispatch units, act as dispatch and possibly IC.

RECOVERY

• Cancel OPS channel.• Replace equipment how you found it for next

drill.• Remind everyone to sign off the drill objective

and any Annual objectives they accomplished.
