FJ11181 Seasons on the Farm by Kevin Walsh 4 x 1000pc £30

This beautiful collection of puzzles illustrates a working animal farm through the four different seasons and captures the events which take place throughout the year. The first image is set in spring with the lambing season underway; the family children are helping out with feeding with milk bottles. The second image captures the peak of summer, with the long days, the farmers can fix up the old barn, and move round any produce they’ve produced. The wonderful third image depicts the start of autumn, with the farmers all looking very tired after a day of harvesting the crops. The fourth image beautifully captures the end of the year with a stunning sunset, snow on the ground and the steam engine helping to move produce stored in the barn.

Another of the wonderful illustrations that capture some of the most beautiful areas of the great British countryside. The eye-catching puzzle portrays a beautiful summer’s day in the tranquil fishing village of Mousehole in Cornwall, England. The painting features an array of fishing boats docked in port at low tide, giving the fishermen some time to re-string their lobster nets, before heading back out to sea when the sea comes back in. If you have visited this beautiful part of the country, or know someone who lives at Mousehole, then this jigsaw would be an ideal gift.

This is the 13th puzzle in this series. A busy scene which takes us back to the early 1960s, as a WPC stops the traffic to let pedestrians cross the road in safety. Her “beat” obviously includes Ludgate hill, as in the distance we can see the clock of St Paul’s Cathedral, and the edge of the great dome. This scene contains lots of interest, and we hope the puzzle will remind you of days gone by.

The next in the Falcon de-luxe Cottages collection. The picturesque scene of a cottage coated in thick snow as the sun sets in the distance creates a beautiful evening sky. You can see the writer in the soft lights in the windows and together with the smoke rising from the chimney you can imagine how warm and cosy the cottage is inside.

Jig’s CornerHere’s hoping all the jigsaw festivals taking pace last month were a great success. We’ve heard from the Verwood Methodist Church festival organisers and they raised almost £1500 ! Please let us know if you attended or how they went if you were the organiser. They are usually lovely community events that bring like-minded puzzlers together. Of course, if you would like to organise one for next year, we can put you in touch with other organisers for some hints and tips. Keep puzzling!

Reader’sLettersHELP PLEASE! I have now exhausted all possible avenues regarding finding a missing jigsaw which would complete my set of beautiful pictures which I frame. I have contacted the manufacturer – distributors etc to no avail. The puzzle is ‘Spirit of Winter’ by Crown and Andrews (Holdson). I have the other 3 which I purchased from the Jigsaw Puzzle Club - Spirit of Spring, Summer and Autumn. The ‘Spirit of Winter’ seems elusive. I am hoping that one of your members may have one they have completed and stored – you are my last chance.
