Active Isolated Stretching Along Fascial LinesUpper Body - Dec 1 Sat 9am-6pm 8CEs $195Lower Body - Dec 2 Sun 9am-6pm 8CEs $195Explore the myofascial lines described by Tom Myers in his work Anatomy Trains® using Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) techniques. You will learn the physiology behind AIS and how to apply AIS to the fascial lines. Learn to evaluate range of motion potential be-fore and after stretching and how to apply the techniques to treat fascial lines. Previous AIS experience is helpful but not a require-ment to attend. Classes count towards advanced AIS level certifi-cation with AIS Northwest. NCBTMB approved through AISNW.

Joshua Morton, WA LMP #8567 works in the area of soft tissue rehabilitation and injury prevention. He became familiar with Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) and began to employ this technique with excellent results. He achieved a Master’s Accreditation level in Manual Ligament Therapy (MLT) and currently co-teaches classes around the country by combining two powerful modalities into one seamless treatment protocol.

Barefoot Shiatsu MassageOct 14-21 Sun 9:30am-5:30pm 14CEs $340Barefoot Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese approach to body-work utilizing the feet to press, stretch and stroke the body in what is a surprisingly comfortable and satisfying massage experience. It is also fun to do. Barefoot technique develops a strong sense of balance, body awareness and sensitivity similar to practicing Tai Ji Quan. This technique is especially useful when the client is larger than the practitioner. This class is open to anyone and, like Shiatsu Basics, is a good introduction to Shiatsu.

Wendy Ward, LMT #10147 has practiced since 1980. Prior to being licensed in Oregon, she worked as an herbalist and organic farmer. She currently practices in SE Portland, emphasizing Shiatsu in her work. She’s especially enthusiastic about Shiatsu because it is as engaging and rewarding to give as it is to receive. Wendy incorporates traditional Tai-Ji and Dao-Yin in her self-care regimen, each enhancing her skills as a practitioner. Through teaching, Wendy enjoys sharing her excitement about Shiatsu.
