SEFAR NYTAL

IntroductionEver since 1833, Sefar fabrics are beingsuccessfully used in flour milling. In theearly days and for long years, naturalsilk bolting cloth was the standard.Nowadays, synthetic fabrics have re-placed silk. In close co-operation withmachine manufacturers and end users,we have developed our SEFAR NYTALproduct range, and we complementand adjust it to market requirementsas and when necessary.We offer fabrics in the roll or as ready-made-up covers for all siftingmachines used in the flour milling industry. In addition, we carry a rangeof the most important supplementary accessories which are presented in our special leaflet Milling Accessories.

The fabric assortmentThe whole assortment of SEFAR NYTAL fabrics is composed of severalgroups. They distinguish themselves inrespect of thread diameter, percentageof open area, raw material and fabricconstruction. Fabrics made of heavieryarns guarantee longer lifetime (PA-XXX/HD Heavy Quality). Fabricsmade of lighter yarns offer a highersifting efficiency (PA-XX Milling or Normal Quality). PA-MF Milling Fortewas developed to find the happy medium of both characteristics, i.e. to achieve best possible durability combined with high efficiency.All the mentioned fabrics are availablein a full range of mesh apertures whichare listed in the respective technicaldata sheets.

Food compatibilityThe fabrics from the SEFAR NYTAL

range are made of yarns which containonly substances which are generally re-cognized as safe according toFDA Code of Federal Regulations(USA), Food and Drugs, title 21, part177.1500 for PA respectively 177.1630for PET (indirect food additives: Poly-mers) and COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 2002/72/EC of August 6,2002 relating to plastic materials andarticles intended to come into contactwith foodstuffs.

The plansifterIn plansifters, mill-stock is sifted andseparated in up to seven granulations. Depending on the product, various types of fabric must be considered for use.

Coarse and scalping sievesWe recommend to use SEFAR NYTALPA-GG (Grit Gauze). These fabrics guarantee high sieving efficiency. Theyare available with mesh-apertures from1800 to 212 m.

Wheat of the harder typesand DurumFor the subsequent sieving operations,in particular with hard types of wheatand Durum, we recommend SEFARNYTAL PA-XXX (Heavy Quality) withapertures ranging from 300 to 80 m.The solid construction of these fabricsoffers long life of the sieves.

Red spring types of wheatWhen it comes to producing flourfrom Red Spring wheat, and particularly in conjunction with modern types of sieving frames, SEFAR NYTAL PA-MF (Milling Forte)guarantees best results. PA-MF standsup better to high-efficiency sieve cleaners (plastic cleaners with brush,plastic cubes, rubber balls) than PA-XX Milling/Normal Quality, and has, therefore, a longer life.These fabrics are available with mesh-apertures from 300 to 100 m. Theyare produced in the 158 cm width tosuit in particular the modern metal sieving frames.

Soft and bisquit wheatSEFAR NYTAL PA Milling or NormalQuality (XX) lends itself in particular forthe sieving of soft and bisquit wheatsand other products which are difficultto sift. The special construction of PA(with 2 fine adjacent threads alternatingup and down, followed by 1 heavierthread in the warp construction of thefabric) accounts for the better perfor-mance. This special construction creates a rough fabric surface and stilloffers a high percentage of open area.Mesh apertures are available from 300to 63 m.

4The purifiersPurifiers are used to produce grits inDurum and soft wheat mills. For thisapplication, we have specially devel-oped our SEFAR NYTAL PET-GG (gritgauze) fabrics. Polyester, contrary topolyamide, is stiff and rigid, which creates a rougher fabric surface. Thischaracteristic makes the product re-main longer on the sieves and assuresbetter separation/cleaning. In addition,polyester is hardly affected by humidi-ty, hence, SEFAR NYTAL PET-GGfabrics always remain tight, which inturn facilitates sieve cleaning.PET-GG is available with aperturesfrom 1800 to 212 m.

5Inlet and outlet sleevesFlexible inlet and outlet sleeves madeof polyester or polyamide multifilamentfabric assure a dust-free and regularproduct flow on plansifters and puri-fiers. We manufacture inlet and outletsleeves of special multifilament fabricswith excellent hygienic properties.

Filter sleevesFilter sleeves made of polyester needle felts are used for the cleaningof dusty air, i.e. for the recuperationof wheat dust. A special oil and water repellent impregnation increases the operationlife of the sleeves and reduces maintenance.

Centrifugal siftersVibro/Turbo sifters are used to separate difficult products (e.g. floursfrom filters or bran finishers). Solid fabrics in SEFAR NYTAL PA-HD/XXX or SEFAR NYTAL PA-GG grades assure good sieving efficiencyand long life on these machines. We specialize in supplies of ready-made-up sieve cylinder covers to beused on Vibro/Turbo sifters.

6Fabric stretching equipmentA pre-condition for high sieving efficiency is a properly mounted frame.Our pneumatic fabric stretching equipment SEFAR Pneumapp 2 with 4 or 6 clamps is an excellent tool toensure accurate fabric tension. It is ofsturdy construction, easy to handle,and applicable in every situation.

SEFAR Quicktal with accelerator and Tensocheck 100-R

Fixing the sieve fabric to the framesSEFAR Quicktal is a fast adhesivewhich serves the purpose excellently.Thanks to its accelerator, the drying ti-me can be reduced to 1 to 3 minutes,depending on the fabric to be fixed. The time saving is enormous. Contraryto fixing with a stapler or nails, gluingoffers the advantage that every singlethread of the fabric is fixed, which isan important pre-condition of even andpermanent stretch of the fabric. Quicktal is suitable for synthetic andmetal fabrics to be mounted to wooden or metal frames.

Fabric tension measuring deviceSieve fabrics must be stretched andmounted according to predeterminednorms. These norms are the guide-lines for the fabric stretch and can beeasily respected with the use of our SEFAR Tensocheck 100-R.A micrometer measures the flex of thefabric under a specific load.The scale shows the value in N/cm and mm. Our leaflet SEFAR Tensocheck 100-R orthe SEFAR Stretching System showsthe recommended norm values forevery fabric.
