FOREWORD

Coursing – eine eher wenig be-kannte Disziplin im Hundewe-sen. Würde man bei Hundehal-tern um eine Erklärung dieserSportart suchen, man würdewohl in den meisten Fällen kei-ne oder eine nur unzutreffendeAntwort erhalten. In der Tat istCoursing bei Nicht-Windhun-defreunden nur wenig bekannt.Umso mehr überrascht dessenzunehmende Beliebtheit imWindhund-Rennwesen. DieEntwicklung ist wohl am ehes-ten vergleichbar mit jener vonAgility. Dies jedenfalls entneh-men wir dem Bericht über diediesjährige Europameister-schaft, die im burgundischenChardonnay ausgetragen wur-de. (Der Ortsname erinnertwohl manchen Weinliebhaberan die beliebte Traubensortemit gleichem Namen, die einen

kräftigen Wein von reicher undfeiner Blume ergibt!) Den Or-ganisatoren ist klar geworden:Die große Beteiligung von über650 Hunden am diesjährigenTitelrennen verlangt für die Zu-kunft neue Lösungen.

Die lateinamerikanische Titel-ausstellung ist traditioneller-weise begleitet von vier Tages-ausstellungen, wovon eine alsSektionsausstellung bezeichnetwird. Dieses Jahr fand sie ausAnlass des 50-jährigen Beste-hens des Peruanischen KennelClubs in der Nähe von Limastatt. Dass die Teilnehmerzah-len im Vergleich zu den Euro-dogschauen wesentlich kleinersind, ist aufgrund der immen-sen Distanzen zwischen densüdamerikanischen Ländernund den damit zusammenhän-genden Transportproblemenund -kosten verständlich. DieQualität der Hunde ist jedochabsolut vergleichbar mit den

The de-velopment is probably bestcompared with that of agility.This is what we gather from thereport on this year’s EuropeanChampionships which wereheld in Chardonnay, in Bur-gundy (the name of the townreminding many a wine-loverof the lovely variety of grapewith the same name, whichmakes a strong wine with a richand fine bouquet!). It was clearto the organisers that the greatparticipation of over 650 dogsin this year’s race for the cham-pionships demands new solu-tions for future events.

The Latin American title showis traditionally accompanied byfour day-long shows, one ifwhich is called a section show.This year, on the occasion ofthe 50th anniversary of the Peru-vian Kennel Club, it was heldclose to Lima. The smallernumber of competitors com-pared to at European dog showsis due to the huge distances be-tween the South Americancountries and the associatedproblems and costs of transport.However, the quality of thedogs is 100% comparable toEuropean dog shows.

The World Dog Show in Her-ning in Denmark attracted al-most 20,000 dogs to the rings.As expected, organisation wasexcellent and the quality of the

Esto es, al menos, loque deducimos del informe so-bre el campeonato europeo deeste año, que se celebró en lalocalidad borgoñesa de Char-donnay. (¡Este topónimo proba-blemente le recuerde a más deun amante del vino a la popularclase de uva que lleva el mismonombre y que ofrece un vinofuerte de boca rica y fina!) Paralos organizadores, una cosa hasido clara: La gran participa-ción de 650 perros en la carrerapor títulos de este año requierenuevas soluciones para el futu-ro.

La exposición latinoamericanacon títulos tradicionalmenteviene acompañada por cuatroexposiciones de un día, de lascuales una se denomina Expo-sición de Sección (SectionShow). Este año se celebró cer-ca de Lima, con motivo del 50ºaniversario de la fundación delKennel Club Peruano. El moti-vo de que los números de parti-cipantes sean esencialmentemenores que los de las exposi-ciones Eurodog en Europa sedebe a las inmensas distanciasen los países sudamericanos y alos consiguientes problemas ycostes de transporte que dichasdistancias acarrean. La calidadde los perros, sin embargo, notiene nada que envidiar a la delas exposiciones europeas.

La Exposición Canina Mundialen la danesa localidad de Her-ning alojó a casi 20.000 canesen los rings. La organizaciónfue excelente – como no cabíaesperar de otra manera – y lacalidad de los perros fue muyalta, sobre todo en las competi-ciones finales. Es asimismo na-

plus d’un amateur de vin, le cé-page de même nom très appré-cié qui donne un vin vigoureuxà l’arôme riche et fin !) Les or-ganisateurs en ont pleinementpris conscience : la forte parti-cipation de plus de 650 chiens àla course au titre de cette annéeexige, pour l’avenir, de nou-velles solutions.

Le championnat en Amériquelatine est traditionnellement ac-compagné de quatre exposi-tions journalières dont une qua-lifiée d’exposition de section.Cette année, elle a eu lieu àl’occasion du 50e anniversairedu Kennel Club péruvien, prèsde Lima. Le nombre de partici-pants sensiblement inférieur àcelui des Euro Dog Shows secomprend du fait des distancesconsidérables entre les paysd’Amérique latine et des pro-blèmes et frais de transport quien résultent. It is under-standable that most of the ex-hibitors came from Denmarkand its neighbouring countries– the journey from the coun-tries further afield was not ex-actly easy. It is thanks to theexcellent organisation and per-formance of the WDS 2010 bythe Danish Kennel Club thatthe standard was raised onceagain – undoubtedly a chal-lenge for the World Dog Showsin the years to come.

On 6 June 2010, the “Day ofthe Dog” was held in Germany,paying homage to the morethan 5 million dogs living inGermany. Over 600 dog-relatedevents were held on this date bythe German Kennel Club(VDH) and its member clubs.They were very well attendedand media response was alsooverwhelming. The GermanKennel Club has gained our re-spect for this great idea. It isrecommended that other coun-tries copy this. It makes an im-portant contribution to the pub-lic maintenance of the dog’simage. Die Welthundeausstellung imdänischen Herning brachte fast20'000 Hunde in die Ringe. DieOrganisation klappte – wienicht anders erwartet wurde –hervorragend und die Qualitätder Hunde, vor allem in den Fi-nalwettbewerben hatte ein sehrhohes Niveau. Dass die meistenAussteller aus Dänemark undseinen umliegenden Ländernkamen, ist verständlich. DieAnreise war von den weiterentfernt gelegenen Ländernnicht ganz unbeschwerlich. Mitder hervorragenden Organisa-tion und Durchführung derWHA 2010 durch den däni-schen Kennel Club wurde dieMesslatte erneut sehr hoch ge-legt. Zweifellos eine Herausfor-derung für die Welthundeaus-stellungen der nächsten Jahre.

Am 6. Juni 2010 wurde inDeutschland der "Tag des Hun-des" begangen, eine Hommagefür die im Lande lebendenmehr als 5 Millionen Hunde.Mehr als 600 Hunde-Veranstal-tungen fanden an diesem Tagstatt, angeboten vom VDH undseinen Mitgliedsvereinen. Siewurden sehr gut besucht undauch die Resonanz in den Me-dien war überwältigend. DerVerein für das Deutsche Hun-dewesen verdient für diese guteIdee unseren Respekt. Der An-lass ist zur Nachahmung auchin anderen Ländern empfohlen.Er trägt in hohem Maße zurImagepflege des Hundes in derÖffentlichkeit bei. Gratulation!

La organización yrealización excelentes de la Ex-posición Canina Mundial 2010,llevadas a cabo por el KennelClub Danés, han vuelto a subir,una vez más, la vara de medir,¡sin duda alguna un auténticoreto para las exposiciones cani-nas mundiales de los próximosaños!

El 6 de junio de 2010 se ce-lebró en Alemania el "Día delperro", un homenaje a los másde 5 millones de perros que vi-ven en el país. Ese día tuvieronlugar más de 600 eventos cani-nos y cinológicos, ofrecidos porel VDH y sus clubs miembros.Los eventos y actos fueron muyconcurridos, y también el ecoen la prensa fue abrumador. ElVDH, que es la federación ci-nológica canina alemana, mere-ce nuestro respeto por esta bue-na idea. Es recomendable se-guir este ejemplo también enotros países. Una ocasión de es-te tipo contribuye a cuidar ymejorar la imagen del perro en-tre la opinión pública. ¡Felici-dades!

L’exposition canine mondiale àHerning au Danemark a pro-pulsé presque 20 000 chiens surles rings. L’organisation a fonc-tionné à la perfection –conformément aux attentes – etla qualité des chiens, surtoutlors des concours finaux, cor-respondait à un très haut ni-veau. Il va de soi que les expo-sants venaient majoritairementdu Danemark et des pays limi-trophes. Le voyage partant depays plus éloignés n’était pasexempt de difficultés. Grâce àl’excellente organisation et réa-lisation de l’exposition mondia-le de 2010 par le Kennel Clubdanois, la barre a été de nou-veau placée très haut – sans nuldoute un défi pour les exposi-tions canines mondiales desprochaines années.

La journée du chien - un hom-mage aux plus de 5 millions dechiens qui vivent dans le pays -a été célébrée en Allemagne le6 juin 2010. Plus de 600 événe-ments cynophiles proposés parla fédération cynophile alle-mande, la VDH, et ses associa-tions membres ont eu lieu cejour-là. Elles ont été très bienfréquentées et l’écho dans lesmédias a été étourdissant. Lafédération cynophile allemandemérite notre respect pour cetteexcellente idée et il est recom-mandé à d’autres pays de suivrecet exemple qui contribueconsidérablement à la bonne ré-putation du chien auprès dugrand public. Félicitations !

Jedoch besteht ein deutli-cher Unterschied zwischendurchschnittlich 3.500 Hundenbei internationalen Ausstel-lungen und 19.350 gemeldetenHunden bei der Welthundeaus-stellung.

Ein beeindruckendes Team von81 Richtern war der Einladung,bei diesem wichtigsten jährlichstattfindenden Ereignis der FCIzu richten, gefolgt. Sie kamenaus 21 verschiedenen Ländern.Wie meistens bei Welthunde-ausstellungen, fand die Veran-staltung an 4 aufeinanderfol-genden Tagen statt, mit durch-schnittlich 5.000 ausgestelltenHunden pro Tag.

Das Messezentrum ist ein riesi-ges, modernes Gebäude, aufdem eine Gesamtfläche von et-wa 500.000 m² und 63 Ringe(je 225 m²) für die Ausstellungzur Verfügung standen. Es gabreichlich Platz für die Ausstel-ler, Hundeführer, Richter, Gäs-te und Besucher, um zwischenden Ringen umherzugehen undbei der Bewertung ihrer Lieb-lingsrassen zuzusehen. AllenRichtern waren tüchtige Ring-stewards zugewiesen, und dieWegweiser zu den verschiede-nen Hallen waren klar und gutplatziert. An jedem Morgen derAusstellung wurden Pressekon-ferenzen abgehalten, und dieErgebnisse wurden umgehendweitergeleitet. Die Veranstal-tung wurde auf der Website desDänischen Kennel Clubs onlineübertragen. Das Pressezentrumwar komfortabel und mit dererforderlichen Technologie aus-gestattet.

Über 300 Rassen und Varietä-ten traten gegen einander an.Die beliebtesten waren:Golden Retriever (350)Labrador Retriever (299)Französische Bulldogge (287)Berner Sennenhund (280)Rhodesian Ridgeback (244)

Die Welthundeausstellung wartatsächlich eine internationaleVeranstaltung: Aussteller aus54 Ländern waren nach Dä-nemark gereist, die meisten vonihnen kamen aus Dänemark(3.866), Schweden (2.972),

Comme la plupart dutemps, l’événement a eu lieu sur4 jours avec une moyenne de5.000 chiens exposés chaquejour.

Les halls étaient un énorme bâti-ment moderne d’une superficieglobale d’environ 500.000 m² etcomposé de 63 rings (chacunmesurant respectivement225 m²). Il y avait suffisammentd'espace pour permettre aux ex-posants, aux handlers, auxjuges, aux invités et aux visi-teurs de se déplacer entre lesrings et assister aux jugementsde leurs races préférées. Lesjuges ont pu compter sur desstewards efficaces et les pan-neaux indiquant les différentshalls étaient clairs et bienplacés. Des conférences depresse ont eu lieu chaque matinet les résultats des jugements fu-rent immédiatement dispo-nibles. L’événement a été dif-fusé en direct sur le site Internetde l'organisation canine nationa-le danoise. Le centre de presseétait quant à lui confortable etdisposait de toute la technologienécessaire.

Había sufi-ciente espacio para expositores,guías de perros, jueces, invita-dos y visitantes para andar ent-re los rings y para contemplarsus razas preferidas. A todoslos jueces se les asignaros efi-cientes comisarios de ring, y lasseñales de dirección para ir alos diversos pabellones estabanbien colocadas, de forma claray comprensible. Cada mañanade la exposición se celebró unarueda de prensa, y los resulta-dos se comunicaban sin demo-ra. El evento se transmitió on-line en el sitio Web del KennelClub Danés. El centro de pren-sa era confortable y estabaequipado con toda la tecnologíanecesaria.

An impressive panel of 81judges had accepted to officiateat the most prestigious annualFCI event. They came from 21different countries. As is thecase with most World DogShows, he show was held onfour consecutive days with anaverage of 5,000 exhibits a day.

The trade fair centre is a hugeand modern building where atotal area of about 500,000 m²and 63 rings (225 m² each)were dedicated to the show.There was plenty of room forexhibitors, handlers, judges,guests and visitors to walkaround the rings and watch thejudging of their favouritebreeds. All the judges were as-signed efficient ring stewardsand the signs showing the wayto the different halls were clearand well positioned. Press con-ferences were held every morn-ing of the show and resultswere made available immedi-ately. The Danish Kennel Clubhad arranged an online broad-cast of the event on its website.The press centre was comfort-able and equipped with all thenecessary technology.

This special role which dogsfulfil was celebrated for thefirst time on 6 June 2010 as“Dog Day”. The German Ken-nel Club (VDH) and its mem-ber associations put on over600 events all over Germany.The clubs celebrated Dog Dayby holding a wide variety of ac-tivities at dog training fields,during walks, with dog showsand sports tournaments. Veteri-nary colleges and clinics alsotook part by holding practicallectures and guided tours oftheir clinics.

The clubs were able to registerin advance on the websitewww.tag-des-hundes.de. Allthe events surrounding DogDay were collected and listedthere. All the participants re-ceived an organisation packageand were assisted by the VDHwith their contacts to the press.In addition, sponsors and coop-eration partners of the VDHmade a comprehensive adver-tising package available to eachparticipating association con-taining, among other things,books, stickers and puppystarter sets for handing out tovisitors.

Many dog fans made use ofDog Day to become acquaintedwith the associations and withwhat the dog training fields hadto offer. At the same time, theywere able to try out activitieswith their own dogs and to takepart in trial lessons, dog racesand other activities. “In theform of Dog Day, we showedhow fascinating and full of va-riety life with a dog can be”,stated VDH president ProfessorPeter Friedrich.

The response from visitors andthe press on the first Dog Dayexceeded all expectations. Over700 publications – with a totalcirculation of more than 12 mil-lion – were recorded. Alongwith these, there were manytelevision and radio reports.

As a patron, we were able towin the services of the success-ful television presenter and au-thor Nina Ruge, who wasnamed by the VDH as the first“dogs’ ambassador”. From nowon this title will be awarded an-nually by the VDH. The title isintended to honour people fromthe public domain who havebeen outstanding in their posi-tive attitude to dogs and lifewith dogs. Nina Ruge estuvo fuerte-mente comprometida y activacon y para el día del perro yayudó a la VDH: “Para mí esun incentivo para hacer lo má-ximo posible para los perros enAlemania. Y naturalmente parala VDH, que trabaja como enti-dad determinante en estos asun-tos.”

Die Besucher- und Pressereso-nanz auf den ersten Tag desHundes hat alle Erwartungenübertroffen. Über 700 Veröf-fentlichungen – bei einer Ge-samtauflage von mehr als 12Millionen konnten verzeichnetwerden. Hinzu kamen bundes-weit zahlreiche Fernseh- undRadiobeiträge.

Als Schirmherrin konnte die er-folgreiche Fernsehmoderatorinund Buchautorin Nina Ruge ge-wonnen werden, die der VDHzur ersten „Botschafterin desHundes“ ernannte. Out of morethan 2,200 applications whichwere submitted, “Dog Day”convinced the independent juryand consequently ranks amongthe 365 prize-winners whichrepresent Germany as the“Land of Ideas” with its future-oriented concepts.

The great success which thispremière enjoyed has guaran-teed that it will be continued.As a result, the date for the nextDog Day has already beenfixed: the next celebration willbe held on 5 June 2011.

HUNDEFEINDLICHE GESETZE

Der FCI-Vorstand ist der An-sicht, dass es unbedingt not-wendig ist, Maßnahmen zu er-greifen, um die hundefeind-lichen Gesetze, die in letzterZeit in vielen FCI-Ländern auf-getaucht sind, zu verhindernbzw. ihnen entgegenzuwirken.

Daher wird ein Zirkular mit fol-gender Erklärung verfasst:

1. Double-Handling ist bei in-ternationalen FCI-CACIB-Aus-stellungen untersagt.2. Die Richter/innen sind ver-pflichtet, jeden Hund zu dis-qualifizieren, der im Ring ag-gressives Verhalten zeigt.3. Por eso se está redactando unacircular con las siguientes de-claraciones:

1. Está prohibido el doblehandling (Double-Handling) enlas exposiciones internacionalesCACIB de la FCI.2. The General Committee ap-proved the report given at themeeting:

T. Jakkel and K. Järvinen re-ported that the title keeps dogscoming to the dog shows. Onthe other hand, any breed clubor member has the right to de-termine the requirements a doghas to meet in order to be ableto breed in its particular coun-try.The sole title CIE can be con-sidered not to be enough for adog to participate in a breedingprogramme unless it meetssome other requirements(working certificate, health test,DNA identification, etc.). Thisapplies to any breed in anymember country.

Der Vorstand der FCI gibt be-kannt, dass die FCI ab 1. Januar2011 einen FCI-Newsletter on-line stellen wird. Dies wird allezwei Monate der Fall sein, eswird also sechs Newsletter proJahr geben. CIE-TITEL

Der Vorstand hat den in der Sit-zung vorgebrachten Bericht an-genommen:

T. Jakkel and K. Järvinen be-richteten, dass der Titel zur Er-höhung der Meldezahlen beiHundeausstellungen beiträgt.Andererseits hat jeder Rasse-hundeclub oder dessen Mitglieddas Recht, die Bedingungenfestzulegen, die ein Hund zu er-füllen hat, um in seinem Landzur Zucht zugelassen zu wer-den.

El Comité General de la FCInotifica que a partir del 1 deenero de 2011 la FCI pondrá adisposición online un boletíninformativo (Newsletter). Esteboletín se publicará cada dosmeses, por lo que habrá seisediciones de Newsletter al año.Además, la FCI seguirá publi-cando una revista (Magazin),que será una composición dedos boletines informativos(Newsletters) sucesivos. Habrá,por tanto, tres revistas (Maga-zin) al año. Los miembros ycontratantes seguirán recibien-do 20 ejemplares gratuitos.Además disponen de la posibi-lidad de pedir más ejemplares.Las personas particulares quedeseen leer online el boletín in-formativo podrán hacerlo re-gistrándose e indicando su di-rección de correo electrónico/e-mail. Wenn bewiesen werdenkann, dass ein Richter/eineRichterin absichtlich zwei Ein-ladungen angenommen hat, istdies seitens seiner/ihrer natio-nalen Hundeorganisation zuahnden. Wird dies unterlassen,behält sich der FCI-Vorstanddas Recht vor, gegen die betref-fende nationale Hundeorganisa-tion Sanktionen zu verhängen.

Of course, it is the performancewhich counts above all in acompetition but, just as in anykind of sport, there is always anelement of luck. Those whodidn’t succeed this time willcertainly have more luck nexttime. The most important thingis the joy of working with thedog.

In 2011, the Obedience WorldChampionships will be held inParis. I am sure that this, too,will be a great success.

Der Trend zum Gigantischenhält im Coursing-Sport an. ZurEuropameisterschaft 2010 indem kleinen burgundischenWeindorf Chardonnay gingen657 Hunde an den Start. Knap-pe zehn Prozent mehr als einJahr zuvor. Diese Zahl ist nachdem bisherigen Modus mitzwei Parcours an einem Woch-enende nicht mehr zu bewälti-gen. Für den dritten Parcoursfehlte in Chardonnay der Platz.Also bezog man den Freitagals kompletten Wettkampftagmit ein. Das hieß: Drei Tagelang volles Programm von frühbis spät.

Am Freitag ging es auf den bei-den Parcours ab 8.45 Uhr ganzheftig zur Sache. Auf dem er-sten Terrain, einem nach West-en geneigten Hang mit überzehn Prozent Gefälle, tobtensich zunächst die Barsoi-Hün-dinnen aus, ein Feld mit immer-hin 51 Startern. Über 700 Meterging es dreimal steil bergab,zwei Passagen liefen parallelzum Hang in gleicher Höhenli-

Chardonnay man-quait de place pour un troisiè-me parcours. Le vendredi adonc été inclus comme journéeofficielle du championnat, cequi signifie : un programmeintégral trois jours durant, debonne heure le matin à une heu-re tardive.

Une grande animation régnaitsur les deux parcours le vendre-di dès 8.45 heures. Sur le pre-mier terrain, une pente inclinéevers l’ouest d’une déclivité deplus de dix pour cent, les bar-zoïs femelles se défoulaientdans un champ où l’on dénom-

Dog coursing continues to be agigantic trend. At the EuropeanChampionships 2010 in thesmall Burgundian wine villageof Chardonnay, 657 dogs linedup for the start, just under tenpercent more than last year.This number of starters meantthat it wasn’t possible to stickto the familiar practice of twocircuits on one weekend.Chardonnay doesn’t haveenough space for the third cir-cuit. Consequently, the Fridaywas also included as a completeday of competition. This meanta full programme from morningtill night on three consecutivedays.

On Friday it was down to seri-ous business on both circuitsfrom 8.45. On the first terrain, ahillside facing to the west witha gradient of over ten percent,the Borzoi bitches – a field of51 starters – ran riot. Over 700metres it went steeply downhillthree times, two sections ranparallel to the slope at the sameheight. And twice the dogs, de-fying gravity, had to chase the

hares uphill over a long stretch.And in most cases it was here,over the last incline, that thewheat was separated from thechaff. The second terrain re-quired not so much livelinessand power as attention, condi-tion and quickness, above allover a 200-metre long sectionwhich had a slight incline at theend. Here, the competition wasbetween the Greyhounds (with28 starters), then the Deer-hounds, the Magyar Agars andthe Galgos on Friday.

Just before midday, dark cloudsgathered overhead and burstover the European Champi-onships, accompanied bystormlike gusty winds, whichcaused serious problems for thefixtures holding down the roofcoverings.

Fortunately there were no seri-ous accidents during the wholeevent. However, mention mustbe made here of a Saluki whosuddenly lost sight of his preyduring his own run, but thencaught sight of the hare on theneighbouring circuit. He want-ed to pursue this prey on theother side of the barriers. So, hethrew himself headfirst with allhis might into one of those met-al sections which are used intheir thousands for safety onthe side of the roads in the Tourde France every year. As a re-sult, four of these parts wereknocked down and the Salukicarried on his pursuit over thewrong terrain. However, he still

Peu avant midi, des nuagessombres ont fait leur apparitionet des trombes d’eau, accompa-gnées de bourrasques violentes,se sont déversées sur le Cham-pionnat, mettant sérieusement àl’épreuve les ancrages de plusd’une toiture.

Les accidents graves ont parchance pu être évités duranttoute la manifestation. N’ou-blions toutefois pas de men-tionner ce saluki qui n’ayantplus de visibilité durant la cour-se, a aperçu un lièvre sur leparcours voisin. Il a donc dé-cidé de poursuivre sa victimeau-delà des barrières. Il s’estjeté de toutes ses forces, tête lapremière, sur une des barrières

Kurz vor Mittag zogen dunkleWolken auf, die ihre ganzenWassermassen über der Euro-pameisterschaft ausleerten, be-gleitet von stürmischen Böen,die die Verankerung mancherBedachung auf eine ernsthafteProbe stellten.

Schwer wiegende Unfälle blie-ben bei der ganzen Veranstal-tung zum Glück aus. Dennochsoll hier ein Saluki erwähntwerden, der plötzlich währendseines eigenen Laufes Sichtver-lust hatte, jedoch den Hasen aufdem Nachbarparcours zu Ge-sicht bekam. Deshalb wollte ernun dieses Objekt jenseits derAbsperrung verfolgen. Alsowarf er sich mit aller Kraft denKopf voran in eines jenerMetallteile, wie sie bei der Si-cherung der Tour de France je-des Jahr zu Tausenden am Stra-

Poco antes del mediodía apare-cieron nubes oscuras que des-cargaron toda su agua sobre elCampeonato Europeo, acom-pañadas de fuerte ráfagas deviento que pusieron a pruebalos anclajes de alguna que otracubierta y techumbre.

Por fortuna, no hubo ningún ac-cidente grave en todo el evento.Cabe mencionar aquí un Salukique, de pronto, durante su ca-rrera perdió de vista a la liebrede su propio recorrido y, sinembargo, vio a la del recorridovecino. Por eso quiso perseguira señuelo vecino traspasando elcercado. Por tanto, se lanzó contoda su fuerza y la cabeza pordelante contra una de esas pie-zas de metal como las que seutilizan cada año en el Tour deFrance por miles en los bordesde las carreteras. Cuatro de es-

tos elementos se cayeron, y elSaluki continuó con su caceríaen el terreno equivocado. Y fi-nalmente aseguró para sí la lie-bre en la meta, por delante delos Afganos que estaban co-rriendo ahí.

Asimismo cabe mencionar aquía otro Saluki, de propiedad ita-liana, al que el sábado por latarde/noche se le había puestola manta de ganador comoCampeón de Europa. Natural-mente acompañado todo ellopor el himno nacional y bajo eljúbilo de los propios seguido-res. Ya esa misma tarde/nochealgunos propietarios de Salukis,a los que el resultado proclama-do durante el homenaje al gana-dor no les había parecido deltodo claro, repasaron el cómpu-to de los puntos. A la mañanasiguiente estuvo entonces claroel resultado verdadero, algovergonzoso para todos los afec-tados. No había ganado el perroitaliano, sino el alemán:Jinn’iya Al’Ain Al Asmaani dela familia Bergerweiß, de Bas-sum.

La jefa del club borgoñés de le-breles, doña Françoise Degas-Bourrasset, solucionó todos losproblemas con bravura. En lasreuniones de los jefes de equipoparece ser que hubo algunasobservaciones o deseos de me-jora, sin embargo ninguna críti-ca de problemas importantes.Por eso quisiera expresar, aquíy ahora, de nuevo mis elogios alos responsables y funcionariospor la excelente organización yrealización de este CampeonatoEuropeo de Cacería con Señue-lo de la FCI.

En Chardonnay se presentarona la salida más de 650 perros,que determinaron los ganadoresen 15 razas. En total se otorga-ron 24 títulos, de los cuales los

métalliques telles que celles uti-lisés par milliers chaque annéeen bordure de route pour sécu-riser le Tour de France. Quatrede ces éléments se sont ren-versés et le saluki a poursuivisa course-poursuite sur le mau-vais terrain, réussissant à s’em-parer du lièvre devant les deuxafghans qui le chassaient.

Il convient de mentionner éga-lement un deuxième saluki (ap-partenant à un propriétaire ita-lien) qui s’est vu remettre lacouverture du champion d’Eu-rope le samedi soir avec, bienentendu, l’hymne national et lescris de joie des supporters enarrière-plan. Le soir, plusieurspropriétaires de salukis quitrouvaient le résultat étrangeont recompté les points. Le len-demain matin, le résultat (em-barrassant pour toutes les per-sonnes concernées) était clair.En effet, ce ne fut pas le chienitalien mais un chien allemand« Jinn’iya Al’Ain Al Asmaani» appartenant à la famille Ber-gerweiß de Bassum qui fut dé-claré vainqueur.

Im Rahmen seiner Feiern zum50. Gründungsjubiläum fun-gierte der Kennel Club Peruanovom 15. – 18. Juli als Gastge-ber der Delegiertenhauptver-sammlung und der Sektionsaus-stellung Lateinamerika & Kari-bik.

In der Nähe von Lima, der pe-ruanischen Hauptstadt, fand am15. Juli die Delegiertenhaupt-versammlung statt, bei der derVorsitzende, Miguel AngelMartínez, 39 Delegierte be-grüßen konnte.

Für die Aussteller gab es andiesem Wochenende vier Mög-lichkeiten, ihre Hunde zu prä-sentieren. Nämlich an der na-tionalen Ausstellung „25 Jahreoffizielle Anerkennung des pe-ruanischen Nackthundes durchdie FCI“, an der InternationalenAusstellung der Gemeindever-waltung von Lima, an der Inter-nationalen Ausstellung zum 50.Jahrestag der Gründung des pe-ruanischen Kennel Clubs und

Los expositores tuvieron cuatroocasiones para presentar a susperros ese fin de semana. En laexposición nacional “25 añosde reconocimiento por parte dela FCI del Perro sin Pelo delPerú como raza oficial“, en laexposición internacional delAyuntamiento de Lima, en laexposición internacional del 50ºaniversario de la fundación delKennel Club Peruano y, final-mente, en la exposición de sec-ción Américas and Carib Sek-tion Show.

The delegates’ general meetingtook place near Lima, the Peru-vian capital, where the chair-man Miguel Angel Martínezwas pleased to welcome 39 del-egates.

Bei dieser Gele-genheit wurde den Mitgliedern,den Präsidenten der Delegatio-nen und den Vorstandsmitglie-dern des peruanischen KennelClubs in einer schlichten aberbeeindruckenden Zeremoniedie Gedenkmedaille zum 50.Jahrestag der Gründung desKCP übergeben. Im Anschlussfand ein geselliges Zusammen-sein vieler der vertretenenHundefreunde der Abteilungstatt.

On the Saturday night the greatgala dinner was held for the50th anniversary of the found-ing of the Peruvian KennelClub which was attended bymany members and friends.During this event the members,the presidents of the delega-tions and the board members ofthe Peruvian Kennel Club wereawarded the commemorativemedal for the 50th anniversaryof the foundation of the KCP ina simple but impressive cere-mony. Following this, therewas a companionable gatheringof many of the dog fans fromthe branch who were attending.

In collabora-tion with Estonia and Latvia,Lithuania holds the prestigiousBaltic Winner Show everythree years – the largest andmost visited dog show in theBaltic states. As a result of being close to theEuropean and Scandinaviancountries, it is easy for Lithua-nian breeders and dog show en-thusiasts to travel to the largestshows. They have quickly tak-en up the latest breeding trendsand boldly spend their moneyfor breeding purposes outsidethe country, allowing them toachieve results which it has tak-en many breeders years to buildup to. Since Lithuania became amember of the EuropeanUnion, many young dog han-dlers and breeders have left thecountry in order to learn fromthe top dog handlers and breed-ers abroad and to work withthem, often only for their boardand lodgings, and without be-ing paid. They then bring ex-pert knowledge and experienceback to the country and contin-ue the work of their mentors intheir homeland. Lithuanianshows are very popular withScandinavian and Russian dogfans who come with their bestdogs to have them compete forthe prestigious titles; howeverthe time when only foreigndogs competed in the groups isover. Our dogs have becomeserious opponents for our visi-tors and our kennels are contin-uously becoming better knownoutside our borders.

Lesexpositions lituaniennes sonttrès appréciées des cynophilesscandinaves et russes qui vien-nent avec leurs meilleurs chiensafin d'obtenir des titres presti-gieux ; le temps où seuls deschiens étrangers se retrouvaienten finales est toutefois révolu.Nos chiens sont des adversairesredoutables pour les visiteurs etnos éleveurs sont de plus enplus connus au-delà des fron-tières.

Unsere Hunde sindstarke Gegner für die Besucherund unsere Zwinger werdenüber die Grenzen hinaus immerbekannter.
