CHAMBER LOOKS FORWARD TO ITS 2014 GOLF TOURNAMENT

According to RoxanneClemence, the event is filled with all the elements that should make the day fun andmemorable. We had nearly 40 participants last time, she said, and we ho pe to haveven more this year. The cost is only $115 pp and includes cart, bbq buffet plus muchmore. $25,000 GRANT TO STUDY FILIPINO BUSINESS PLAZA PROJECTThe Chamber received $25,000 from the City of Seattles Department ofNeighborhoods to conduct a pre-feasibility study for a Filipino Business Plaza. Thestudy is to start this Fall with an intended completion by September 2015. The studywill look at three questions: Is there a need or want for a Filipino business plaza; whereshould it be located; and, who might be potential investors and partners. The Chamberwill be recruiting members for a project planning committee. One of the byproducts ofthe study will be an updated list of Filipino businesses throughout Seattle.

CHAPTER SATELLITES TO BE FORMEDIn response to the growing number of Filipino businesses and professionals outside ofthe Seattle area the FCCPNW Board is set to consider the formation of FCCPNWsatellites north and south of the City. Bert Golla, chairperson of the SatelliteFormation Committee, is preparing guidelines and application, for review and approvalby the Chamber Board. Upon approval, satellite groups of Filipino businesses andprofessionals can conduct Chamber activities in their local areas.

CHAMBER MEMBERS INVITED TO PARTICATE IN THE NATIONAFEDERATIONS OCTOBER 17 -24 TRADE MISSION TO THEPHILIPPINES FCCPNW members and others are invited to participate in the National Federation ofFilipino Chambers planned trade mission to the Philippines. This years mission isfocusing on real estate, high-tech outsourcing, and medical tourism, importing andmanufacturing in Central Luzon (side visits to other areas can be arranged).

Participants will also attend the 40th Philippine Business Conference at the ManilaHotel and MANILA FAME, the largest trade show Philippine Products for export. Costis $1445 for members, $1945 for non-members plus airfare. Coordinating FCCPNWparticipation is Bert Golla who can be contacted at 206 551-5181.
