We offer doctors of chiropractic 20 hours of license renewal credit, including Risk Management (as well as the Florida Laws & Rules/Medical Errors/Ethics and Recordkeeping/Documenta-tion & Coding hours required for your Florida renewal). Clinical hours are approved in Florida and some 47 other states. CAs and CCPAs can also attend select sessions. We have entire tracks specifically designed for the “new doctor,” front office CA and back office CA, as well as one designed by the International Academy of Clini-cal Neurology for those wishing to get their neurology diplomate CE; and we’re offering LMT options: six hours of required C.E. or 12 hands-on hours—or attend both tracks for 18 total hours! Add to that 12 C.E. hours for CRTs, courses for LAcs/APs/DOMs, and the RCA Train-ing Program, and we’ve got everyone covered!

Show and TellParticipating vendors will offer up the latest in chiro-practic equipment, supplies and services to energize your practice on FCA’s National Expo floor. Registered CA TrainingFormal Accredited Training Offering a Basic CredentialIncreasingly, third party systems are resisting reimbursement for services rendered by “unlicensed person-nel,” even when directly supervised by a physician. Thankfully, Florida Statutes provide the authority for a supervising DC to register his/her supervision of a specific chiropractic assistant with the Department of Health and that registration is recognized by the state as a form of licensure. The cost to register a CA is $30 for each supervising DC. The application can be found on www.fcachiro.org by entering “registered CA” in the search box or by going to this address: (http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/chiro/chiro_lic_req.html). The supervising DC is responsible for training and direct supervision of a registered (or unregistered) CA in the rendering of any delegated care. In response to member requests, the FCA has explored the offering of basic clinical staff training that would provide a sound foundation for CA’s to render supervised patient care and excel as a member of the staff team in a chiropractic office and would provide proof of such training in the form of a certificate of completion from an accredited chiropractic college. Beginning at its Panhandle Convention 2010, the FCA initiated a pilot program, in cooperation with New York Chiropractic College, to provide voluntary Registered CA Training at FCA conventions. At the upcom-ing National 2012 Convention we will offer 2 24 hour modules in topics listed under “RCA Training” in the National Convention section of www.fcachiro.org.

CA’s who wish to achieve a certificate of completion from NYCC (and have these hours applied toward possible future CCPA training) simply register for the convention in the “registered CA training” category, fill out the NYCC enrollment form, the fee of $30 is built in the registration. Class attendance will be taken for these CA’s and an FCA certificate of attendance will be issued to those who fully attend selected modules. For those who complete all 24 hours and enroll with NYCC will receive a certificate of completion issued directly by NYCC. Those same 24”RCA Training” hours, if recorded/maintained by NYCC, would serve as credits toward any future program offered through NYCC to provide the 200 hours required by statute in order to be Florida-licensed as a Certified Chiropractic Physician’s Assistant.

RCA TRAINING PROGRAM GOALS FOR MODULE IUpon successful completion of the 24-hour, 2 part program, CA’s, under direct supervision, will be able to: 1. Understand the ethical requirements necessary to work in the field of healthcare in general, and chiropractic specifically. 2. Be familiar with commonly used medical/chiropractic terminology. 3. Understand basic anatomy and physiology. 4. Assist the chiropractic physician with placement of patients for x-rays and developing procedures. 5. Administer physical therapy modalities and procedures. 6. Understand and perform duties relating to office administration, including front desk and back office procedures. 7. Understand appropriate coding and documentation requirements of the chiropractic office. 8. Communicate with physicians, patients and third party payers

Please Note: A New Module II

for more information.

Here’s What You Need to Do to Register

1. Complete the FCA convention registration form on www.fcachiro.org, checking the “RCA Training” category.

2. To receive a certificate of completion and tran-scripts from NYCC, you must fill out the separate NYCC form and send it to FCA to get credit. For the first RCA/CA registering, the $30 tracking fee is included, the “free” RCA/CA will pay only the $30 tracking fee.

3. Class size is limited to the first 200 who pre-register. Pre-register early to insure availability!

ECLIPSE® has been in extensive use nationwide for over 25 years, is Claredi certified for ANSI 5010 claim submission, and is ONC-ATCB certified for Meaningful Use. High volume private practices that bill millions in revenue monthly consider ECLIPSE their de facto standard. Yet, it’s affordable enough for a small practice or new practitioner. After all, the principals at MPN Software Systems are healthcare providers—just like you.

In the 1980’s, MPN became known nationwide for their billing acumen. A 2nd generation appointment scheduler achieved an independent reputation a decade ago. Now, their 3rd generation SOAP is getting accolades.

ECLIPSE was an “all-in-one” product before the term originated. And the new SOAP system boasts the fastest, most user-friendly & customizable version they’ve ever released. “Paperless” isn’t just about electronic notes, it’s about getting rid of paper altogether. Take it to the next level with Document Automation and Electronic Storage.

Foot Levelers, world’s leading provider of custom-made orthotics, has been serving the chiropractic profession for 60 years. Foot Levelers specializes in products that are de-signed to improve the quality of life. The company’s goal is to focus on whole body wellness from the ground up. Sixty years ago, Dr. Monte Greenawalt invented orthotics to bal-ance the body by balancing the feet, thereby enhancing his patients’ structural integrity. Learn more about structural support from two of chiro-practic’s most dynamic speakers, Dr. Terry Yochum and Dr. Kim Christensen, who have not done a combined lecture in over 20 years. Their new and unique approach will be uplifting and provide useful material for attendees to take back to their practices and implement immediately.
