SUNDAY FOOTBALL RULES 1. The minimum playing time, and the number of periods, are agreed beforehand. Once the minimum playing time is reached, after each team scores they can declare ‘last goal wins’. The next team to score wins the game 2. The game is played with a round football of size 3, 4, or 5 3. There are no goalkeepers 4. Protective gear (shin pads, etc.) is not allowed. Breaches of this rule negate that team’s last goal and award the other team a free kick 5. The goal posts and corner posts are any moveable objects of equal or less weight than the agreed football. In the case of an even number of players, goal posts are placed 1m (3ft) apart. In the case of an odd number of players, the goal posts for the larger team are placed 1.5m (5ft) apart 6. The field of play is agreed beforehand, but where possible there should be at least twenty paces between the nearest corner post and the nearest goal post. Walls will prevent a ball frm going out of play wherever they are used to define the field 7. Players referee the game themselves. Split decisions are decided by a vote (wave of hands, or pointing of fingers!) and ties are awarded in favour of the team last to have the ball 8. Play can start any time after the minimum number of players and the ball are on the field 9. Play is started once either team dribbles the ball off their goal line 10. If a team moves the ball off the field, a free kick is awarded to the other team from the point where the ball went out 11. If a team moves the ball over the other team's goal line, without scoring, then a free kick is awarded to the other team from any point behind their goal line
