My book will follow young journalist, Jack Renalds as he uncovers a conspiracy at the very

highest levels of government. The book is set in New York City in the early 90s and draws much of

the back-story from events like the Persian Gulf War and the 1992 presidential election. My book

will focus on such themes as corruption, corporate espionage, and just war criteria.

Jack Renalds is an ambitious reporter who will stop at nothing to get a good story. This allchanges when he meets with a veteran that makes some startling accusations about a Presidential

candidate. The veteran blames the Senator for funding a sting operation to assassinate a Saidi

Arabian prince. The prince wanted to raise the price of oil in the West, making him an unpopular

public figure. Jack's source provided him with a hard drive with documentation, pictures and video

evidence of the raid and the senator's connections to it.

The veteran tells his story of how he had been a US marine and had been injured in the

battle of Khafji. He had been sidelined for over two months. When he returned to active duty the

war was over but instead of going home he was told that he had been selected for a special mission.

The mission was to take out an Al Quaeda sleeper cell based in Saudi Arabia. However, after being

briefed he noticed several inconsistencies. Intelligence did not seem to be very substantial and some

even looked like it had been fabricated. When he mentioned this to the others who had been

selected for the mission they blew him off. Finally he took it to a his C.O who told him he wouldlook into it. The next day he was honorably discharged and sent home with a purple heart.

Things get stranger when Jack is mugged on his way home and the only evidence tying the

senator to the raid is gone. When Jack attempts to make contact with his source he finds that he

has disappeared. Jack refuses to give up and instead contacts some of his sources in Washington to

help him dig further. Instead of help he begins to receive threatening letters with one common

    message Stop digging.

Comment [RM1]: This is a really goo

your proposal. Overall, you have started

on the different aspects of what is requi

proposal. One thing that I noticed is tha

havent talked so much about character

than the main character. You should foc

talking more about the characters and a

make them well rounded. This will help m

story more believable and will overall st

the quality of your proposal. You did a

getting into the historical background of

Maybe you could add some information

Americas public opinion was on the war?

biggest thing about this is that I havent

seen what the purpose is. Maybe you ju

touched on that yet but you should reall

work that in at the very beginning and u

constant theme throughout the entire pr

The purpose is what will really sell the idwhomever you are presenting to. The la

is a good hook and it has definitely caug

Use that type of writing to keep your au

    interested. Thanks!
