Pastor’s Corner I hope that you have been experiencing the same sweet spirit of fellowship I have been noticing at First Baptist and have been able to personally enjoy. While we can have fellowship over a meal or during an event, it far exceeds both. I want to say thank you to all of those who help to make these special events and opportunities possible for people in the church to spend time together. It takes a team and a servant’s heart. Thank you to the men for putting together the Mother’s Day Brunch. Thank you to the parents and children’s workers for the fun McDonald’s trip. Thank you to all of those who helped with the picnic. And then there are so many other ministries that bring us closer together that continue as well such as Young at Heart, Morning Glory, Jail Ministry, Youth Ministry,

Sunday School, and more!

Not to ever brag on us, but may we give glory to God. Just think and give thanks and praise for a minute with me. We had a baptism and a decision to join our church family. Wednesday Night Bible Study started back, and it has been so wonderful to see all of the people here. King’s Kids has started back, and the kids are loving it. The children also were able to take a trip together and have more outings planned in the future, in-cluding children’s camp. God has been so good to our graduates seeing them through their schooling and blessing our ELC with a great graduation for the little ones. I am so thankful for what God is doing! Let’s not take it for granted or miss out. “O taste and see

that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8).

Notes from Jeff I am still reveling in the thoughts of our church picnic yesterday! The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day, and even more, a beautiful experience. With around 80 church members playing, chatting, laughing, singing and praying together during the afternoon. I was so encouraged as I watched folks move around the pavilion and have multiple conversations with close friends and with people they don’t often get to spend time with. All while the students and children were playing and laughing together. I watched the body of Christ “love on each other.” It was as much a picture of the church body as any Sunday morning worship time was. Thanks to all who came and especially those who took care of bringing the food and grilling! Looking forward to our next picnic!

The stage couldn’t hold all the men we had sing for Mother’s Day! Or maybe we just were scared to test it! Thanks guys, you sounded wonderful! Father’s Day is coming this month so Wives & Daughters get ready to fill the stage as we will sing on Sunday morning, June 20th!

I want to briefly share two opportunities that we have to support our Student Ministry in the coming weeks. First, our summer mission trip is coming in late June and you have the opportunity to give to help these students minister in the

Greenville, South Carolina area. You are always so good to support these youth and any gift you give designated to “Youth” will go to this trip and others like it. Secondly, you have seen information about the plans to complete the second story above our ELC into a “Youth Area”. This will be a place for Sunday School, Sunday night DU, Wednesday night classes and other youth meetings and events. We are excited about this opportunity and you can give directly to this project. Any gift designated to “Youth Area” will go to the completion of the project. Please make sure you note the difference. Designated “Youth” will go to trip, designated “Youth Area” will go to the construction project. Thank you for your love for and support of our students.

Church Choir, thank you so much for sharing this past month! And wonderful solo on “The Truth Is” Ms. Janet! Just a few more weeks until our summer break. Our last rehearsal for the summer will be Wednesday, June 16th so be faithful these next few weeks.

So glad to have the Kings Kids rehearsing again! Remember Sunday afternoons at 5:00 pm is your time to sing! Meet in the Choir Room.

Let the Summer Begin! The kids and teachers have worked so hard this year! It is now time for a little break from all the structured classroom days. We are ready to jump into some fun summer activities and themes. Thank all of you for helping to make this a successful year! First and foremost, thank our Lord for seeing us through the pandemic and all that could have come of it. We had a few bumps along the way, but it was much better than last year. Thank you office staff for all the things you do on the business side, and all the building and grounds guys that keep everything running smoothly. Teachers we couldn't have made it through the year without your dedication to working with these children each day. FBC, thank you for praying for this ministry and opening your doors to the community. Last but not least, thank you parents for entrusting us with your sweet little ones. Please continue to pray for us as we work in the lives of our most precious assets, OUR CHILDREN!! Thank you and may God continue to bless!!! Now let us get this summer rolling! Sincerely, Jennifer Goode-Director/K4 Teacher

“I am the resurrection and the life” John 11:25

We are less than a month away! M-Fuge Greenville is coming! There are a few key dates that you need to keep in mind.

I believe that God will change our lives and hopefully the lives of others during this mission experience. I pray that we learn to dwell closer to Him and allow Him to dwell in us. Don’t just be looking forward, be praying!

This summer we will be spending a “Summer in the Psalms” during our Sunday night DU time and at our Summer JAMs. This will be a great time of discovery in the book of Psalms. We will kick this off on Sunday, night June 6th at DU. Our first Summer JAM is Monday night, June 7th!

The sign up list for helping in our Rocky Railway Vacation Bible School is on the youth bulletin board in the CLC. Please sign up as soon as possible and I will get the assignments made by July 1st. Know that this is you being on mission here at home!

Hotlanta is back baby!! July 20th-21st and the deposits are due by Sunday, June 20th.
