How to make a spring loaded Glitter bomb ... The toilet paper tube in you bathroom has pre-made parts for a great glitter bomb. The spring is a perfect rate that makes loading easy yet still has enough strength to get the job done. Start with a toilet paper holder as shown below.

Take the tubes apart. There should be a small molded keeper ring that holds it together.

Cut the small tube about 1/2" from the ends as shown.

You should now have a "Plunger" and a "keeper ring".

Tie a fairly strong string or fishing line to the plunger as shown.

Take the larger "Outer" tube and drill a small hole in the cross brace.

Using a length of string, fold it in half and fish it thru the hole. Pass the string attached to the plunger thru your spring and then thru the loop created by the first string.

Pull on both ends of the first string and it will pull the plunger string thru the hole in the outer tube for you.

When you pull on the srting, it will pull the plunger into the tube. You can now lock the plunger in place with the keeper ring. If you tube does not have a keeper ring, you should tie a lenght of string to the other end of the spring, run it ouside of the tube and tape it in place. This will keep the spring inside the tube when it is activated.

Using the scrap tube that you cut away, mark a piece of light cardboard from a note pad with 4-5 small circles.

Cut these "discs" out. Using some spongy foam, cut out two more discs a bit larger diameter. Two small strips of paper 1/4" x 3" will also be needed.

Here is the assembly order: paper disc, spongy foam, paper disc, glitter, paper disc, spongy foam, paper disc, paper strips.

You will need to pull back on the string, compress the spring, and hold it tight while securing a rubber band arround it and the string as shown.

Load the tube as explained above ...

Fold the paper strips as shown and tape them in place.

Take a length of string and tie it under the paper strips, this is the trigger.

Now, carefully hold the string tight and remove the rubber band. This is now a loaded glitter bomb!

To activate this, you secure the tube where you want the glitter to come from, and stretch a trip line across the path of your mark. When the trigger tears the paper strips, the contents of the tube will empty a shower of glitter. Have fun and report back with you Glitter success.
