Deuteronomy 11:18–21 Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. . . .You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

HOME LIFE BEGAN WITH GODJohn 14:2 In My Father’s house there are many mansions.Ephesians 3:14–15 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.

• God is the Father of Christ• Holds the office of FATHERHOOD • All fatherhood is a projection of the nature of

God the Father.

1 Corinthians 11:3 I want you to know that the head of every man [meaning the male] is Christ, the head of the woman [wife] is man, and the head of Christ is God.”

HEADSHIPThe headship of the

Father over Christ is eternal

Page 20: Fathers Lead

John 1:1In the beginning was the Word (Jesus Christ), and the Word was with God (The Father), and the Word was (face to face with) God John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God WHO IS IN THE BOSOM OF THE FATHER • Picture of love and mutual delight • This divine fellowship to be PRESENT in

our lives and homes

FELLOWSHIP

Page 21: Fathers Lead

1 John 1:3

That which we have seen and heard [the record contained in the gospels] we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

3 MAIN ASPECTS OF RELATIONSHIP FATHERHOOD, HEADSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP

If our homes on earth are to fulfill God’s purpose and be successful, they must reproduce these three relationships.

THE ETERNAL PATTERN OF A HOME

Page 23: Fathers Lead

The wife the “homemaker?” Partially right BUT in the economy of God, THE MAN is primarily the homemaker

• The father is the key to the establishment of the home.

• God GAVE him the responsibility and the authority to establish a home to fulfill the design of a loving heavenly Father

MAN take your rightful position, WOMAN will take her place beside him as “helper” (Genesis 2:20)

WHO IS THE REAL “HOMEMAKER”?

Page 24: Fathers Lead

HUSBAND/WIFE RELATIONSHIP IS A PICTURE OF THE ETERNAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FATHER AND CHRIST. 1 Corinthians 11:3But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God

  • God is the head of Christ• Christ is the head of the man or husband• The husband is the head of the woman or wife.

THE CHAIN OF AUTHORITY

Page 25: Fathers Lead

All authority is derived ultimately from the Father and depends upon a right place in the chain that goes back to Him.

• Christ has authority because He submits to the Father.

• The husband has authority because he submits to Christ.

• The wife has authority because she submits to the husband.

Page 26: Fathers Lead

Luke 7:8  For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”

NOTE• He recognized that the authority he had over the

soldiers because he himself was under authority. • He recognized the source of this chain of command is

the emperor himself. • He who refused to obey the commands of the

centurion refused the authority of the emperor.

UNDERSTANDING AUTHORITY

Page 27: Fathers Lead

The word “also” MEANS He was comparing himself with Jesus He recognized the same principle - his military command and the spiritual ministry of Jesus

Just as the authority of the centurion depended on his relationship to the emperor, so the authority of Jesus depended on His perfect submission to the Father. TO HAVE AUTHORITY, WE MUST BE UNDER AUTHORITY.

“For I ALSO am a man placed under authority”
