The VirTue Corner

The Virtue for the month of March is Courtesy. We show courtesy when we use polite words, take turns, let others go before us, offer our seat to someone who needs it, hold to the door for someone, and countless other kind gestures. Courtesy can be a silent virtue that is shown rather than spoken. Here is a prayer to remind us to ask Jesus for help in acquiring the virtue of courtesy: Dear Jesus, Help me to show respect towards others in my words, manners, and body language. Amen. Amazing Apostles of Courtesy Virtue Assembly

Friday, March 27th at 8:10am, ES (includes last Lenten Prayer Service)

The Virtue for the month of April is Generosity. We show generosity when we share our goodness with others. We do this by spending nice time with someone, smiling, thinking of others first, doing what God wants, sharing, and giving to the poor. Dear Jesus, Help me share myself with others as you share Your life with me. Amen. First Communion Prayers Please pray for all our students preparing to receive Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion this May. This is a very special time as they prepare to be closer to Jesus than ever before. Yearbook Ads Needed Please turn in your Yearbook Ads by Friday March 27! The 2nd graders would like to thank everyone who contributed to our used book sale. Whether you donated books for the sale or purchased books, we would like to express our sincere thanks! We were able to present Beacon House with a check for $161.00 from our sale! 2nd Grade Collecting Toiletries-Service Learning Our last service learning project this year is to collect any unopened hotel sized shampoo, conditioner, soap, or lotion to give to Beacon House for their guests. If you have any of these laying around and would like to help, there will be baskets outside the 2nd grade classrooms until the middle of April. Our plan is then to visit Beacon House, evaluate the play room to see if there is something we feel the children staying there would like (ideas for some future projects) and bring out donations of toiletries. Thank you for helping us be the hands of Jesus!

Saint Patrick’s Day 7th/8th Grade Dance

During this St. Patrick season the first grade classrooms were visited by a mischievous leprechaun named Shady. The first graders decided to make traps to try and catch him March 16th. They then wrote a story about "Shady and How to Catch a Leprechaun”. They didn’t catch the leprechaun, but he did leave some cool chocolate coins and green leprechaun dust!
