We are now entering into the fall season and with many events happening with the Knights all lined up. Our first party was the Octoberfest on October 22 nd . PGK Joseph Pedersen prepared some delicious food and libations. The cost was only $20.00 for all the food you can eat and delicious desserts brought by the council members that made the night more enjoyable. The event was open to anyone who brought their friends and family members. Our second event will be the Annual Turkey Shoot on November 21 st at St. Thecla School, Falcon Hall. This is always fun event and a chance to win Turkey or Ham for your Thanksgiving dinner. There will be a raffle with wonderful prizes to win multiple times. PGK Robin Kwiatkowski and PDG Roger Stachnik are again teaming up to make it better than ever. We need your 100% support as this is the only fund drive Father Ryan Council runs and proceeds go the various charitable organizations we support throughout the fraternal year. And to finish up the year will be the Children’s Christmas Party at the basement of Saint Mary of the Woods Church chaired by PGK John Shanahan on December 12 th followed by the adult Christmas Party to be held on December 13 th at La Villa Restaurant. Details of these two holiday parties will be published. To start the 2016 New Year, SK Mike Morris will be running the Children’s Free Throw Contests at St. Thecla School’s Gymnasium. Please plan on attending the events as you pledge your support to Father Ryan Council. You can still contribute to the ID Tootsie Roll Drive. The Tootsie Rolls are still available and they do make a great treat for kids at Halloween. As you already know, the money raised supports programs that assist people with special learning needs. At this time you must already received in the mail the raffle books for the Vocation Raffle and proceeds support our seminarians. I hope to see you all at these events and at our council meetings that are held on the 1 st and 3 rd Tuesdays of the month at St. Thecla’s Queen of Peace Room. I wish everyone the best and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Support Persecuted

Christians in the Middle East

The Knights of Columbus is committed to assisting our Christian brothers and sisters who are suffering in the Middle East. At this year’s Supreme Convention, Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson announced a “Season of Truth” dedicated to raising awareness of their plight and the plight of other religious minorities in the region.

To date, we have donated more than $4 million to relief efforts in Iraq and Syria through the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund. However, more assistance is needed, as the response from the international community has been woefully inadequate. More Council fundraising info to come.

Please go to christianatrisk.org to learn more about this humanitarian emergency and make a donation that will provide material assistance to these refugees. Kindly also, consider sharing this message with your family and friend.

September 18 – 20, 2015

Congratulations to all the members of Father Ryan Council No. 5025 who participated on collecting donations on designated streets that made the Annual Tootsie Roll Fund Drive a huge success!

Our thanks to the Corner Captains, PGK Bob Fuggiti (substituting PGK Bob on that Saturday, PGK Dr. Dave Herrmann) and PGK Mark Cribben. Same goes to the Chairman, IPGK Bob Chereck!

And to those who donated money, most especially the Century Donors, thank you…thank you… thank you! Besides the corner streets, we also had a permit to collect at Jewel/Osco Store at Foster and Pulaski. PGK Andy Liamaga, SK Remo Cordero and Linda Fuggiti (wife of PGK Bob Fuggiti) covered that area. Thanks to SK Remo & Linda.

I wish more pictures were taken during the fund drive but I have one to share:

Below pictures were taken during our 2015 Memorial Mass at SMOW. Commander Dr. Dave Herrmann and the Honor Guards at the 9:30 AM Mass on September 13th.

Members of Council No. 5025 and parishioners of SMOW at the Memorial Mass delicious breakfast prepared and chaired by PGK Andy Liamaga & PGK Dr. Dave Herrmann on September 13th.

Council No. 5025 Annual Octoberfest at St. Thecla Church Queen of Peace Room on October 20th.

Besides the delicious food we enjoyed, unlimited drinks were served too. There were great raffle prizes won by the attendees. Octoberfest 2015 was chaired by PGK Joe Pedersen and IPGK Bob Chereck. Thanks for making this annual event a success that everyone enjoyed the night!
