BACKGROUND

Fastlane’s premises occupy more than

11,500 sq.ft, with a design and layout

specifically adapted to Fastlane’s

design, manufacturing and customer

service approach to Air Handling units.

Although Fastlane still operates from

Paddock Wood in Kent, England, a

forward thinking approach to the air

handling products we provide, the

markets in which we compete, and

the customers we serve, is reflected by

strong sales growth and premises that

have doubled in capacity from those

early beginnings.

Following acquisition by the ELTA

Group in 1998, the tradition of first

class air handling unit equipment and

associated products, underpinned by

Fastlane’s approach to the Air

Handling market, ensures that

we continue to meet today’s

requirements for the applications and

modern building services techniques

that challenge the company each day.

and Managing Director Rod Capeling,

“ At Fastlane, a combination of

in-house technical expertise, advanced

manufacturing facilities and an

experienced workforce dedicated to

meeting the highest production

standards, ensures we deliver quality air

handling unit equipment” .

“ Our values - innovation, quality and

flexibility, combined with enthusiasm,

drive and determination, provide Fastlane

with the capabilities to continue to

develop and progress as an established air

handling unit manufacturer, to the

Building Services and other markets.”

INNOVATIVEAPPROACH

An innovative approach and a

comprehensive knowledge of the

design of air handling units, combined

with the market applications to which

Fastlane apply their capabilities, are

the cornerstone of our product

development and customer focus.

Fastlane never stands still when it

comes to product development for a

particular application, or where

something is exceptionally

challenging to meet a more specific

customer requirement.

To work out and create the right

approach to our customers’ needs is

deep within our culture, from

the initial sketch to that final

product solution.

With our expertise in Air Handling,

through an accumulated knowledge

of HVAC engineers, and the extensive

facilities of a larger parent Group,

such as the Research and

Development laboratory conforming

to BS EN ISO 9001: 2000, Fastlane has

the capabilit ies to provide reliable,

accurate data, which customers can

apply, with confidence, to their Air

Handling unit requirements.

Fastlane offers extensive technical

support and guidance to our clients,

in the application and sizing of air

handling units and associated

ventilation equipment, in order to suit

the particular specification, site

restrictions or plant room area.

Our whole approach to design and

application is customer driven; from

consultation with our staff, then the

customer, to detailed specifications,

drawings and computer aided

selection, all of which is directed

towards encompassing every aspect,

every detail, thereby providing the

right product for the application.

continuing to invest in tomorrow’s plant

and equipment to achieve this objective,

whilst retaining ‘manufacturing f lexibility’

as a strong corporate attribute, in order to

provide modifications to standard

products, or specially made, customized

air handling units.

The needs and requirements of our

customers both in the UK and developing

export markets, have dictated our

manufacturing and assembly approach.

Indeed, alongside orderly, pre-scheduled

‘batch’ production runs, Fastlane’sproduction culture is geared to develop

This comprehensive brochure with full technical data enables the specifier, consultant or design contractor to select

from an extensive range of Air Handling equipment to prepare his designs and specifications.

The ‘NEVADA’ range of Air Handling units are a compact,

economical range, providing a versatile solution to many

air handling applications. There are six standard sizes,

with a duty range of up to 1.4 m3

 /sec.

All constructed from Penta Post frames, each unit,

powered by direct driven centrifugal fans, offer a full

range of LPHW Coils, Electric Heater batteries and

filters as standard components.

The Cirrus range of Air Handling units are the perfect answer where space is at a premium, such as refurbishment

projects where existing space determines parameters, ceiling voids and where top or bottom access is required.

With six sizes in the range, and duties of up to 1.0m3 /sec, Cirrus air handlers facilitate more restrictive applications.

In addition to the standard product range for Direct & Belt Drive units, Fastlane has established a strong reputation in

the design, manufacture and supply of bespoke ‘made to order’ units, comprising a wide range of components to

match the precise specification for the application.

The ‘Stratus’ range of Air Handling units comprise twelve standard sizes, with duties of up to 5.8m 3 /sec.

The standard range consists of a panel filter, LPHW or Electric heater and forward curved belt driven centrifugal fans.

PERFORMANCE CHART

In accordance with our policy of constant product development we reserve the right t o alter from published data without prior not ice. 23

Our performance chart provides a visual overview of typical air performances for the NEVADA, CIRRUS and

STRATUS ranges of air handling units.

For larger sizes and bespoke requirements, please enquire.

As a guide…………………..

Direct Drive units should be predominantly selected where lower air volumes are required for the application,

due to the compact nature of the unit, lower maintenance and overall costs.

Belt Drive units tend to be selected where higher air volumes and resistances are required, alongside specialist

requirements at lower air volumes.

As you will see from the Performance chart, a unit with a particular volume can be selected from more than

one size of unit.

The best selection for performance and cost would normally be found in the middle of the chart, for example,

Model SA55 Belt Drive for 2.0 m3 /sec - Heating only.

If plant space is at a premium, the smallest unit should be selected, however, please note this will often

increase motor sizes and sound levels to overcome the higher resistance of the unit.
