Letter from Editor Tuesday May 5th, 2009 Ashewney Bernard Dear Girl Fashion Lovers, Many of you flip through magazines to look at the newest styles out there and to see what the celebrities have been rocking for winter fashion and summer fashion. Thanks for choosing “Fashion World” as your ultimate guide! This magazine is all about summer clothes and styles. Summer is here and many of you are looking for the hottest styles you can find; let me give you some information about our styles. In the magazine, you will discover footwear, jeans, capris, shorts, swimsuits, flip-flops, pedicure and manicure colors (these you will love)! We also have new colours in these items that you haven’t seen before. The swimsuit comes in very bright/multiple colours as well as the san-dals, flip-flops, jeans and nail polishes. Review The styles of dresses including prom, gowns, and evening wears var-ies tremendously from year to year. In some year and season (summer), everyone will wear short length dresses and others will wear mini dresses that are above the knee with lots of accessories. For many years black was the most popular colour or white, but as the years go by a lot of bright new colours and styles came in. This year’s (summer) dress is a dress known as the “S Factor” and glamorous is what many call it. The colour of this dress is purple and the length is about three quarters which means it stops at the knee. A lot of dresses are made according to the age groups and sizes that is most popular in women wear, this dress is mainly created for young ladies ages 14 and up. In terms of description, the top of the dress is made like a tank top and it has many curves below, the material is silky which many of the fashion lovers like to feel and like the smooth look that is placed on it. In the tank top’s area (the top of the dress) towards the frontal area, the breast part is shaped like a bra and it is bra’s that majority of young girls wear in today’s society and it is also created with two lines that shows rhythm coming down at the front, these lines are purple as well (knowing that the entire dress is purple).

Teacher’s Complained about Student’s Dressing Attire’s that they

wear to School.!!!!

On Monday May 18th, 2009, High school teachers and principals in Brampton made

a complaint about teenager’s and the way they dress for school. They believe that

teenagers don’t dress in an appropriate manner for school and students are not re-

specting the learning environment.

Teachers at Harold Braithwaite wrote a complaint letter to the principal and vice-

principals about this issue. The vice-principals agreed with the teachers and decided

they would have a meeting with students to discuss the dress code. At the meeting,

Mrs. Farnsworth explained, “students are following the current fashion trends and

are not respecting the school’s dress code”.

Other teachers shares Mrs. Farnsworth opinion on the fashion trends. Over the past

two years, the new styles that teenagers love to wear includes: tights, tube tops, tank

tops, mini skirts/ shorts, and short dresses. Some people will think there is nothing

wrong with these attire’s but, many teachers across the city believe it should only be

worn at clubs, parties, or at home, not on school property.

Principal Greg Watson of Churchhill Highschool was the first to reveal his thoughts

to parents about this issue. The principal explained, “Parents are to be blamed be-

cause, most of them are not concerned about their kids attire’s outside their home.

Parents allow their kids to buy these clothing and wear them to school whenever they

want”. Mr. Watson also states that he will enforce the current dress code and create

additional punishment if this all continues.

Principals and teachers are hoping that students will abide by the rules. Also, they

hope to see better attire from students on school property. They are also looking for-

ward to parents taking part in making the school environment a better place for

learning and students feel safe. Will students start to comply to the school dress

code? It all depends on the students and their parents.

Jennifer Hudson Topic: Today’s Fashion Trends/Fads. Throughout they years, a lot of Trends and Fads have been out in the industry. Many people have questions that are unanswered about, what started these trends/Fads. Where did the designer’s get their ideas from? And what benefits they get from designing these things. Jenifer Hudson Joined Fashion World’s Magazine and shared her thoughts and comments concerning this topic. What do you think about current Trends and Fads? Hudson- the trends have been growing rapidly. A lot of designers have been de-signing a lot of things in which people could wonder where did this all come from? But I think the trends and fads have been going good and the designs are beautiful. What’s your favorite Trend in the Fashion Industry? Hudson- My favorite Trend is definitely sunglasses. I just love to wear sunglasses and that also shows that summer is my favorite season. Even in winter times as soon as the sun comes up, I just pop my sunglasses on. What benefits do designers have from these Trends and Fads?udsonHh FF aadfgg Hudson-They benefit A LOT actually. The designers are usually happy when they see that their designs have been going rapidly because, it shows that get more money. They also get ideas from those previous designs (Trends) so they can de-sign something new for summer or winter. They also get paid to be interviewed as well, when the business is making progress. What do you think influences these designers? Hudson- Main things: “Music”, “Art”, “Music Videos”. Designer’s look at Art designs that usually influence them into making designs that they like and think would make a great Trend. Music/Music Videos shows them what singers are rappers are more interested in so they can design what’s best for them. What do you think the approximate cost for these Trends/Fads are? Hudson- Well, it usually all depends on where people shop for their clothing and accessories, whatever the trend is. In the states it’s usually between the price of 20$- 35$ and it depends on what you buy as well. If you were a designer, what type of things would you design? Hudson- Oh, that’s a nice question! Um I would start to make different sunglasses (HA), I would also come up with a name brand store and design ladies clothing’s and change it up to make new styles. Do you have any further comments that you would like to share? Hudson- Yes! Okay to start off, Fashion is a big part of today’s society, since a lot of people focus mainly on what they wear and how people see them in their outfits. I believe that Trends and Fads are actually a good thing because, design-ers make a lot of money off it, people are happy with their clothing especially
