During my time at university I have gained experience within; designing, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, illustration styles, fabric sourcing, trend forecasting, making and pattern cutting and using industrial machines. I have undertaken various projects where I have styled and organised my own photoshoots of my garments, created my own conceptual fashion trends and experimented with the drape and qualities conceptual fashion trends and experimented with the drape and qualities of fabric. While working for Nicola Anne I was in charge of operating the social media platforms, updates to the website and liaising with stockists, bloggers, magazines and customers. A part of my role was to handle marketing and generate new business and contacts for the companmarketing and generate new business and contacts for the company. While working for Nicola Anne I learnt the process of creating couture bridal wear and a huge insight into the bridal and fashion industry. For the new collections It was a part of my role to source new fabric suppliers and attend fabric trade events and meetings in order to get inspiration and choose the best fabrics for the new collection. During my time at Nicola Anne I was given the opportunity to design and influence many of the creative decisions that went into the collections. Since being with at the company I have attended trade events such as the White Gallery bridal show and organised posters, look books, invitations, goody-bags and models while maintaining my other role of fashion design and marketing.

I completed work experience at Sainsbury’s head office working in the toddler boy buying department and the baby wear design department. During my work experience I went to trade meetings, range build meetings, technical approval meetings, fit meetings and character and supply meetings. While working in the buying department I approved new samples into the tracking systems, I also created a competitive shop report for toddler boy clothing. While working in the design department I used illustrator to create CAD spec sheets for department I used illustrator to create CAD spec sheets for manufacturers while doing tasks such as scaling prints, matching yarns to fabrics and researching market competitors.
