What Is Farming?

• Farming, Agriculture or Husbandry is the cultivation of animals, plant, fungi and other life forms for food, fiber, biofuel, medicinal and other products used to sustain and enhance human life.

Types of Farming

• There are many types of farming which fall into two main groups:

1. Pastoral Farming or animal/ grazing2. Arable Farming or crop growing

Dairy Farming

Dairy Farming: Farmers who supply liquid milk for human consumption to milk for processing into butter, cheese, and so on.

Mixed Farming

• Mixed Farming: Mixed farming is the combining of two types of farming enterprises on the same farm.

Ranching

• Ranching is the practice of grazing animals for raising livestock.
