    1. I want to register as a student forCompany Secretaryship Course wheredo I start?

    For registration you may choose any of the followingoption as per your convenience:

    I. You may visit our HQ (Noida) / Regional /Chapter Offices of your nearest location for

    2 Can I apply for registration through on linemode also ?

    Yes. Registration through online services of instituteis also available at institutes website www.icsi.edu

    Students can apply for registration through onlineservices of institute at the link given below :

    https://www.icsi.in/student/Students/StudentRegistration.aspxIf a student is applying for registration through onlineservices, he/she is not required to pay any additionalamount for cost of registration form. But if he/she isapplying through offline mode ( i.e. hard copy ), he/she is required to pay Rs 500/- for cost ofprospectus and registration form.

    3 Can I get prospectus by post ? Yes. Hard copy of the registration form along withprospectus can be obtained by post from theInstitute (Noida Office) by sending demand draft ofRs 550/- (Rupees Five Hundred and Fifty only)drawn in favour of The Institute of CompanySecretaries of India payable at New Delhi, alongwith an application on plain paper mentioning thename of the student and complete postal address.

    4 Whether Registration Form is alsoavailable at institutes website ? If yes,can I download it and submit the same ?

    Yes. Registration form is also available at instituteswebsite www.icsi.edu If any student is desiring tosubmit the Downloaded or photocopy ofregistration form, he/she is required to add Rs 500/-over and above the prescribed registration fees,

    while preparing the demand draft, towards the costof Registration Form.

    5. Which are the stages covered under CSCourse

    There are three stages covered under CS Course1. Foundation Programme2. Executive Programme3. Professional Programme

    Students who have passed Bachelors Degree inany subject (other than Fine Arts) may directly seek

    registration to Executive Programme.

    6. What is Eligibility criteria for Admission toFoundation Programme ?

    Students who have passed the Senior SecondarySchool Examination under 10+2scheme of a recognized Board or equivalent mayseek admission to Foundation Programme. .

    Note : A student appearing in 10+2 examinationmay also apply for provisional admission inFoundation programme by submitting the attestedphotocopy of his/her Admit Card (Hall Ticket) of

    10+2 Board examinations. Such students arerequired to regularize their provisional admission bysubmitting attested photocopy of his/her 10+2passed mark sheet/ certificate within six monthsfrom the date of his/her admission in FoundationProgramme. Failure to submit the 10+2 passed marksheet/ certificate within the prescribed time of sixmonths shall result in cancellation of the FoundationProgramme registration and forfeiture of theregistration fee without any further notice to theconcerned student. It will be the responsibility of thestudents to submit the desired certificate within the

    stipulated time to avoid complications at a laterstage. Students who fail to regularize the registrationare not eligible for appearing in the CSExaminations.

    . What is the last date of registration inFoundation Program ?

    Admission is open throughout the year. However,certain cut-off dates have been fixed vis--vis the CSExaminations conducted in J une and Decemberevery year.

    31st March For appearing in Decemberexamination of the sameyear

    30th September For appearing in J uneexamination of the next year

    8. What is Eligibility Criteria for directAdmiss ion to Execut ive Programme ?

    Or

    Who is eligible for exemption frompassing the Foundation ProgrammeExamination and seek direct registrationto Executive Programme ?

    A student, who has either passed the FoundationProgramme examination of the Institute (orexempted thereof) is eligible for seeking registrationto Executive Programme. Further, students whohave passed their Bachelors Degree Examinationsin any subject (except in Fine Arts) are eligible toseek registration directly to Executive Programme.

    A candidate possessing any of the followingqualifications is eligible for exemption from passingthe Foundation Programme examination:

    i) A Degree or masters degree inCorporate Secretaryship or Commerce;or

    ii) Pass in the Final examination of theInstitute of Cost Accountants of India orthe Institute of Chartered Accountants ofIndia or any other AccountancyInstitutions in India or abroad recognizedas equivalent thereto by the Council; or

    iii) Pass in the Foundation examination ofthe Institute of Cost Accountants of Indiaor CPT of The Institute of CharteredAccountants of India

    iv) A degree or masters degree in anydiscipline other than Fine Arts.

    A non-commerce candidate seeking exemption fromthe Foundation Programme examination will also beprovided a set of Study Materials of FoundationProgram for his/her self-study to acquire basicknowledge about the subjects of FoundationProgram.

    9 I am appearing in Final year exam of

    Graduation. Can I apply for directregistration Executive Progarm ?

    A student awaiting the Final Year results of theBachelors Degree Examinations may applyfor provisional registration in Executive programmeby submitting the attested photocopy of his/herAdmit Card (Hall Ticket) of Final Year BachelorsDegree examinations apart from the Passed MarkSheets of the remaining two years. Such studentsare required to regularize their provisionalregistration by submitting attested photocopy ofhis/her passed mark sheet of Final year Bachelors

    Degree Examinations within six months from thedate of his/her registration to Executive Programme.Failure to submit the passed mark sheet/ certificateof Final Year Degree Examinations & DegreeCertificate within the prescribed time of six monthsshall result in cancellation of the ExecutiveProgramme registration and forfeiture of theregistration fee without any further notice to theconcerned student. It will be the responsibility of thestudents to submit the desired certificates within thestipulated time to avoid complications at a laterstage. Students who fail to regularize the registration

    are NOT eligible for appearing in the CSExaminations.

    10 What is the last date of registration inExecutive Program ?

    Registration is open throughout the year. However,certain cut-off dates have been fixed vis--vis the CSExaminations conducted in J une and Decemberevery year.

    11 What is the process of registering online ? 1. Click the Online Services button on top of

    the ICSI website (http://www.icsi.edu/)

    2. Then go to Students and click on Student

    Registration

    3. Click on the documents mentioned below, if

    you have the softcopy of the same otherwise

    you will not be able to Register yourself

    NOTE: File format should be jpg,

    jpeg, png, gif, bmp

    File sizes of documents

    should not exceed 5 MB

    Size of Student Photo should

    be between 20KB 50KB

    Size of Student Signature

    should be between 10KB 20KB

    4. Now Click on Proceed to Registration

    5. Select the Course type as applicable to you

    (Foundation/Executive)

    6. Fill other fields and click Register

    7. After this you will get your Request ID and

    Payment ID with your personal details. Also

    the copy of same details will be mailed to you

    on your registered ID.

    8. After this Click on Make Payment.9. You will get username and password at your

    E mail ID within 24 hours of payment. Please

    upload documents at the link sent at your

    mail and upload documents.

    Students may note that registration would beincomplete till all documents are uploaded as per therequirements of the institute.

    12 Is there any requirement to send any

    document or copy of the onlineregistration application along withdocuments to the Institute in physicalform?

    Students applying through online mode are NOT

    required to send hard copies of any document to theInstitute unless specifically asked for producing the

    same for verification.

    13 Which subjects are covered under theFoundation Programm

    15 I want to register as ICSI student but cannot make a payment on line using a creditcard. What do I do?

    For online registration, apart from Credit Card, youmay pay through Debit Card/ Net banking Channels.

    If you are facing any difficulty to pay throughpayment gateway or not getting paymentconfirmations (including non-generation ofacknowledgements), you may seek the help of ourInformation Technology Department by sending amail to [email protected] or by contacting

    Telephone no 0120-4522039/69.

    16 What is the procedure for getting refundof excess payments during Onlineregistration process?

    After successful payment, a formalacknowledgement/receipt will be generated by thesystem. In case of multiple payments, you may writeto the Directorate. of Student Services, Noida forprocessing the the refund of excess amountreceived by the Institute.

    17 What is the Process of resetting passwordfor registered students?

    18 What fees do I need to pay to register? You need to pay registration fees as follows: -a) Foundation Programmeme Rs. 4500b) Executive Programmeme Rs.9000 (For

    Commerce Graduates) & Rs.10000 (ForOthers)

    c) Foundation Pass Student Rs.8500

    All fees and other dues payable to the Institute maybe remitted by crossed demand draft drawn in favour

    of The Institute of Company Secretaries ofIndia, payable at New Delhi or through paymentgateway at online services.

    19 Is there any concession in fees for SC/STcandidates?

    SC/ST candidates are required to pay only 50% ofthe fees payable by general category candidate

    To avail the fees concession students are requiredto submit requisite certificate issued by thecompetent authority State/ Central Government

    20 Is there any concession in fees for OBCcandidates?

    No fees concession is appllicable for OBCcandidates.

    21 Is there any concession in fees forPhysically Handicapped Students?

    Physically Handicapped Students are eligible forconcession in fees as per details given below :

    Stage Payable by physically handicapped students

    FoundationProgrammeme

    Only Registration Fee will be charged

    (At present Registration Fee is Rs.1500)

    ExecutiveProgrammeme

    Only Registration Fee will be charged

    (At present Registration Fee is Rs.2000)

    ProfessionalProgramme

    Only Registration Fee will be charged

    ( At present Registration Fee is NIL )

    The above concession would be granted subject tothe following guidelines : -

    (i) The concerned students should submit acertificate issued by a Physician / Surgeon/Oculist working in a State/ CentralGovernment to the effect of permanentphysical disability (including blindness).

    (ii) The following shall be regarded aspermanent physical disability :-

    (a) permanent physical disability of morethan 50% in one limb; or

    (b) permanent physical disability of morethan 60% in two or more limbs; or

    (c) permanent deafness with hearingimpairment of 70 decibels and above;or

    (d) permanent and total loss of voice.(iii) Blindness shall be regarded as permanent

    physical disability, if it is incurable and falls in

    any of the categories specified namely : -- 6/60 to 1/60 or field of vision

    110-2- 3/60 to 1/60 or field of vision

    100- FC at 1 foot to Nil or field of

    vision 100- Total absence of sight

    It is clarified that all other services shall be availableon full payment basis as applicable to generalcategory students.

    22 I have already applied for my registration.When shall I get the Registration Number?

    Students who submit their registration form throughonline mode, they get the User Id instantly aftermaking payment of requisite fees. This user Id is infact their Registration Number.But if any student has submitted his/her registrationform through offline mode then it may take 25 - 30days time.

    23 I have submitted the Registration formcomplete in all respects. When will Ireceive Study Material ( i.e. books ) ?

    It takes generally between 30 - 45 days for dispatchof study materials.

    24 How can I check my registration status ? Students can check their registration status atwww.icsi.in at this linkhttps://www.icsi.in/RegistrationQuery.aspx?Request=50

    25 My registration is pending. What should Ido now?

    Pending letters are sent to the students in case theirregistration is pending. In case you have notreceived the letter please check status at 0120-4522063

    26 I have received in-complete set of books.When will I receive the balance (Books)Study Material?

    Incomplete set of books are sometimes provided toyou at the time of registration, due to out-of-stockposition of certain study materials.. The remainingbooks are automatically sent to the students

    immediately on arrival of fresh stock.

    27 I have not received my registration letterand Identity Card. Please let me know theprocedure to obtain the registration letterand Identity card?

    The Institute has discontinued the system of sendingRegistration Letter and Identity Card by post (inphysical form). Instead, the registration letteralongwith Identity card can easily be downloadedfrom Institutes website www.icsi.edu

    28 What is the process of downloadingregistration letter/Identity card from the

    website

    1. Click on Online Services at www.icsi.edu2. Click on Login option

    3. Enter your username /password4. Click on Student option5. Open My Account6. Go to Others option at your account7. Student can download registration

    letter/Identity card at Others option8. After downloading Identity card ,student

    needs to get it attested by either of thefollowing : (i) Member of ICSI (ii)GazettedOfficer of State/ Central Government (iii)Principal of Recognised Schools(iv)Managers of Nationalised Banks (v) Officers

    of the ICSI

    29 I have registered provisionally inFoundation/Executive stage. what are theformalities to regularize my admission

    Students admitted provisionally need to submit copyof their 10+2 passing(For students admitted inFoundation stage) , graduation passingcertificate(For students admitted in Executive stage)within six months since their registration otherwisetheir registration may be cancelled and fee getsforfeited.

    30 I took provisional admission in CSFoundation Programme but I have notbeen able to clear the 10+2 Examinations.Would my registration be cancelled incase I am not able to pass 10+2 within sixmonths since my registration

    Yes. The admission will be cancelled and all feeremitted shall be forfieted. All such students need toapply afresh after clearing their 10+2 Examinations.

    31 I took provisional admission in CS butnow I got Compartment in Final yearwould my registration be cancelled incase I am not able to pass final year

    passing certificate within six monthssince my registration

    Yes. All such students need to apply afresh

    32 I have subscribed for the journalChartered Secretary along with myregistration fee. Kindly let me knowprocedure for getting the journal?

    As per procedure, all requests received forsubscription for sending Chartered Secretary areforwarded to concerned section for sending thesame to the respective students. If case of notreceiving the same, you may contact Telephone no 011-45341044

    33 My DD has been dishonored. What shouldI do now

    34 What is validity period of my registrationnumber ?

    Registration for Foundation programme is valid forthree years, whereas registration for executiveprogramme is valid for five years.

    35 Can I get the validity of my registrationnumber renewed after expiry of the same?

    Registration of Foundation Programme can not berenewed. Such students are required to seek freshregistration.

    Registration of students of Executive Programme /Professional Programme can be renewed after theexpiry of five years period from the month ofregistration.

    36 What is ICSI Student Education FundTrust ?

    With a view to encourage and motivate economicallybackward and academically bright students topursue the Company Secretaryship Course, theInstitute has created a Trust viz. ICSI StudentsEducation Fund Trust.

    2. What is the fees for registration inProfessional Programme ?

    Rs. 12000/-The fees may be remitted by way of crosseddemand draft drawn in favour of "The Institute ofCompany Secretaries of India'" payable at NewDelhi or through payment gateway at online servicesof the institute.

    3. What are various cut-off dates forappearing in two / or four modules ofProfessional Programme examination ?

    i) Candidates registered as student up to andincluding the month of February in a year areeligible to appear in all the modules of theProfessional Programme examination to beheld in December same year, and thoseregistered between March to August during ayear are eligible to appear in all the fourmodules of the Professional Programmeexamination to be held in the month of J unenext year subject to satisfactory completionof compulsory coaching.

    ii) Candidates registered as a student up toand including the month of May in a yearwill be eligible for appearing in any twomodule(s) in December examination sameyear and those who are registered up toand including the month of November in ayear will be eligible to appear in any twomodule(s) of Professional Programmeexamination to be held in the month of

    J une next year subject to satisfactorycompletion of compulsory coaching.

    QUERIES RELATED WITH REGISTRATION DE-NOVO

    1. When can I apply for registration De-novo? ( i.e. renewal of registration )

    A student can apply for registration de-novo ( i.e.renewal of registration ) immediately on expiry offive years from the date of of his previousregistration but in any case within five years from thedate of expiry of the registration.

    2. What is the validity of de-novo registration?

    De-novo registration is valid for further period of fiveyears.

    3. How many times I can apply forregistration De-novo?

    Registration De-novo can be sought on a continuousbasis, provided the same are sought within thestipulated period.

    4. I wish to apply for registration De-novo.Where can I get the denovo form ?

    5. How can I pay the de-novo fees ? The fees may be remitted by way of crosseddemand draft drawn in favour of "The Institute ofCompany Secretaries of India'" payable at NewDelhi

    De-novo fees varies from case to case basisdepending upon the stage/ modules the studentconcerned has passed / or yet to pass. As such it isto be calculated as per Institutes guidelines.

    7. Can I apply on-line for registration de-novo ?

    Online de-novo registration facility is not available atpresent.

    QUERIES RELATED WITH EXTENSION OF REGISTRATION

    1. What is the validity of extension ofregistration ?

    Extension is valid for further one year period.

    2. How many times I can apply for extensionof registration ?

    Extension can be taken maximum for two times eachfor a one year period. While Registration Denovocan be sought by all students within the stipulatedperiods, Extension can be availed by the studentssubject to certain conditions. To ascertain theeligibility for extension, students may contact Tel.No. 0120-4522072 or mail at [email protected]

    3. I wish to apply for extension ofregistration. Where can I get the extensionform ?

    8. Who is eligible for extension ofregistration ?

    Only Professional Programmeme students areeligible for extension of registration.

    For seeking extension of registration, studentconcerned has to apply within six months from theexpiry of his/her registration and he/she should havepassed at least one module of ProfessionalProgramme or completed coaching for all themodules of Professional Programmeme.

    QUERIES RELATED WITH NEW SYLLABUS PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME

    1 When will new syllabus 2012 ofProfessional Programme will beimplemented ?

    The Professional Programme (New Syllabus 2012)will be implemented with effect from 1st September,2013.

    2. Which is the last session o f ProfessionalProgramme (syllabus 2007) ?

    Last Examination under the ProfessionalProgramme (Old Syllabus 2007) will be held in J une,2015

    3 When will be the compulsory switch overto new syllabus of ProfessionalProgramme?

    From December, 2015 Session, all students will beautomatically switched over to the ProfessionalProgramme (New Syllabus 2012).

    4. Which are the subjects of new syllabus ofProfessional Programme ?

    Followings are the subjects under ProfessionalProgram new syllabus 2012 :

    1 Who is eligible to claim subject-wiseexemption on the basis ofqualifications ?

    Students having following qualifications ( & havingsecured 50% or more marks in aggregate ) andapplying for exemption with requisite certificates andpaper wise exemption fee @ of Rs.1000/= persubject on or before last day for claiming paper-wiseare eligible to claim exemptions in the respectivesubjects :

    OLD SYLLABUS ( valid till Dec 2014 exams )

    i) General and Commercial Laws :MA / MBA ( Corporate Secretaryship ) or Degreein Law ( three years or five years integrated )from a recognized University / Institute eitherconstituted under an Act of Parliament orapproved by AICTE ( as equivalent tocorresponding degree )

    ii) Company Accounts, Cost and ManagementAccounting:

    8 What is the criteria of getting paper-wiseexemption, if I have secured more than60% marks in any paper in my earlierexaminations of ICSI ?

    The prescribed criteria is narrated below :

    Foundation Programme :A candidate who has appeared in all the papers forwhich he/she was enrolled and has obtained 60% ormore marks in any paper(s), but failed, shall bedeclared to have passed in the subsequent

    examination if he/she obtains a minimum of fortypercent marks in each of the remaining papers andfifty percent marks in the aggregate of the remainingpapers at one sitting within the next three followingexaminations.

    Executive Programme:(i) A candidate who has appeared in all the

    papers of a module, for which he/she wasrequired to enroll, and has secured 60% ormore marks in any paper(s) and aminimum 25% marks in each of the

    1 What is response sheet ? At the end of each study material, few test papers are given.Students are required to read the subject material and writethe answers of these test papers sitting at their home understrict examination conditions. This written answer sheets arecalled response sheets.

    The answers should be written on single foolscap ruledsheets. Answer should be written by student in his/her ownhandwriting.

    2. What is title sheet ? A printed cover sheet is to be stapled on the top of answersheets of each subject. This is called title sheet.

    Student must write his/her name, registration no., subject, testpaper no., his/her postal address on the title sheet neatly &correctly.

    3. I have not received the Titlesheets. What shou ld I do ?

    Generally a bunch of title sheets are provided to each studentalong with the set of study materials. The format of same is

    1 From where I can do thecompulsory computer training ?

    Students may also undergo computer training from any otherInstitute or training center all over India at his/her convenience

    2. What is the total duration ofComputer Training ?

    70 hours of computer training shall be provided to thestudents.

    To undergo this course, a student has to approach anyAPTECH center recognized for ICSI-APTECH Course on allIndia bases. To take admission, the student has to deposit therequisite fees and fulfill the formalities as per the requirementsof M/s APTECH.

    The student can also do this training from any other computertraining Institute as per his/her convenience. While doing so,he/she should ensure that the syllabus of the computer training

    is as per the one prescribed by the ICSI.

    3. How much fee I am required topay for the said ComputerTraining?

    In case of ICSI-Aptech Course, fee chargeable from student atpresent is Rs.3,000.00 (for General Category),Rs.2,500.00 ( for SC/ST Category).

    Note: Service Tax and bank charges as per the GOI rules asapplicable from time to time shall be payable by the student.Present rate of Service Tax @ 12.36 %.

    4. Who is exempted from computertraining ?

    A student shall be exempted from undergoing the CompulsoryComputer course if he/she fulfills the following criteria:

    1. He/She has the requisite knowledge of the areas/topicscovered in the computer training and

    2. He/She enrolls himself/ herself for an online exemption test(to be conducted by M/s Sify) and successfully clearsthe test.

    Note: As per the recent changes in the policy of the Institute,M/s Sify is now the sole testing authority on the proficiency ofcomputer knowledge for the ICSI. To register themselvesonline for the exemption test in SIFY and find more detailsregarding the test, the students may refer to the icsi-sify portali.e. http://icsi.sifyitest.com .

    Under the reciprocal arrangement between ICSI and ICAI-

    CMA, the students of ICAI-CMA who have already undergonethe computer training to comply with requirements of thatcourse will be fully exempted from compulsory computertraining requirement of ICSI.

    Physically handicapped students may also be exempted fromundergoing computer training against Doctors certificateissued as per criteria prescribed by the institute.

    A student may be considered for granting total exemption fromCompulsory Computer Training if, he/she possesses not lessthan 3 years working experience on the computer in any

    organization and acquired sufficient computer knowledge andoperational skills to the satisfaction of Director of ITparticularly on MS Office, Internet, E- mail or any otherpackage which is deemed relevant for the course.

    5. I am having good workingknowledge of computer, but Ihave not done any degree/ordiploma in Computerapplications. Can I be exemptedfrom the said Computer Training?

    Yes. You can be exempted from Computer Training but youhave to enroll yourself for an online exemption test (to beconducted by SIFY) at any of the SIFY Center on all Indiabasis and successfully clears the test. For appearing in thesaid online-test, you are not required to produce anyCertificate/or Degree / or Diploma in Computer Applications.

    6. What is online exemption testand How to approach for onlineexemption test?

    3. I have not received my

    registration letter & StudentIdentity Card from Institute tilldate. How can I get it?

    Student can log in to institutes online services through itsstudent portal www.icsi.edu and by putting the Login ID &password following the stipulated procedure, student candownload & take printout of the registration letter & OnlineStudent Identity Card

    Go to option Student My Account Others\Download IdentityCard & Letter for Students (Registration Letter)

    Students are required to get the Online Student Identity Card

    attested locally by any Govt Gazetted Officer / ACS/FCSmember of Institute to make it valid. Unattested Identity Cardis not valid.

    4. How can I create my Login Id &password to use Institutesonline services through itsStudent Portal?

    1) Visit on Institutes website www.icsi.edu2) Click on ON-LINE SERVICES (top right side of your

    screen)3) Click on Student Login4) Type your registration number in Username5) Click on Retrieve Password6) Again click on Reset password (students only)7) Entered your all details (i.e. Your Programme,

    Registration Number, Gender, DOB, Pin Code etc.)8) Click on Proceed.9) Enter your correct e-mail id & mobile number (WHICH

    FOR UPDATION IN THE ICSI RECORD)10) Click on Reset Password and Get the password on

    5. I am registered student ofInstitute, but I am not gettingStudent Company Secretarybulletin regularly. What should Ido?

    Student Company Secretary bulletin is sent by post bi-monthlyto all its registered students whose registration number isvalid. If any student is not getting any issue of bulletin, he/shemay inform the same to institute at [email protected] another copy of the same will be sent to him by post again

    free of cost.

    However, all issues of Student Company Secretary bulletin isalso uploaded on institutes website www.icsi.edu in J ournals& Bulletins section. Students can also see the same and takethe printout of the relevant portion.

    Further, by-monthly e-bulletin is also sent by e-mail to allstudents of Institute whose e-mail IDs are registered in recordsof the Institute.

    6. I had submitted my registrationform along with the requisitedemand draft at Regional /Chapter office of institute foradmission to CS Course, but tilldate neither I have received myregistration Number nor anyconfirmation about the same.How can I find the status of myapplication?

    Students may check the status of registration applicationsubmitted by them by entering details like ApplicationNumber, Date of Birth/First Name, Mobile Number, E-Mail Id,etc. at institutes student portal www.icsi.in
