THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS

The artist was Lander Peak .He was born in Germany in 1830 and he died in London 1909. Wen he was a child he went to Colorado, the USA.He painted it there in 1865, then he sold it for $25 000..

This painting looks very bright. The rocky mountains have got very natural colors. There`re some animals and indian pepole on the grass and near some green trees. The mountains are high and they´ve got snow. The sky is blue with some clouds. In the center of the painting. there´s a very light waterfall. I think he wants to show us the importance of the light contrast.

Now "the rocky mountains" is in the Brithish museum, London.

I think the painting is very beautiful. I like this painting because it´s a beautiful landscape.

TIGER

Ito Jakuchu was born in Kyoto in Japan. His father was a rich grocer.. He was 23 years old, when his father died and he inherited the business. He didn't really want to be a businessman, so he decided to paint.

Jakuchu enjoyed painting pictures of birds, and in his garden he kept all kinds of birds that he could use as subjects in his paintings.

When he painted The Tiger, he could not paint from a live model because there were no tigers in Japan, so he

copied a picture that a Chinese artist had painted.

He did not enjoy fame for his painting during his lifetime. People only began to become interested in his works after a hundred years or more.

In the year 2000, which was 200 years after his death, the Kyoto National Museum featured a showing of his artworks.

GREEN BAILLERINA

The name of this painting is “Green ballerina”. The artist is Edgar Degas. He was born in Paris on 19th of July, 1834. He lived in Paris ( France). He was the oldest of five children. He started painting at the age of eighteen. He is known for his images of ballet dancers. Edgar Degas died on September 17th, 1917 in the city of his birth.

In the painting there are ballerinas. The one in the middle is wearing a ballet green and orange dress, ballet shoes and she´s got a bun in the hair. You can see a ballet actuation. On the top there are ballerinas dressed in orange s and at the bottom there are ballerinas dressed in green dresses (I guess that's why the picture is called so).

I think Degas likes to paint ballerinas.

I like this painting because I love dancing and it has a mixture of warm and cool colours that I like.
