He received a free education to the Academy of Music in Manila and became
the youngest affiliate of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. He was a creative
songwriter, with more than 4,000 songs to his acclaim including Filipino folk,
Christmas, and love songs that are popular pieces, which many consider to be
immortal. Famous for being a lyricist, his songs treasure life; express nationalistic
sentiments and complete grand philosophies.

LEVI CELERIO At one instance or another, no Filipino can miss the
song or lyrics of Levi's Christmas songs namely Pasko na Naman, Ang Pasko ay Sumapit , and Misa de Gallo.He is probably best recognized for being a leaf-player, an achievement where he was place intothe Guinness Book of World Records.He wrote a huge number of songs for local movies, which gained him the Lifetime AchievementAward of the Film Academy of the Philippines.He was awarded as National Artist of the Philippines for Music in 1997. JULIAN FELIPEJulian Felipe, composer of the Philippine National Anthem, was born in Cavite on January 28, 1861, to parents Justo Felipe and Victoria Reyes. His musical talent began to be honed when he was 10 years old, under the instruction of Leandro Cosca. After Cosca’s death, Pedro Catalan, a Recollect priest, taught him to play the piano. Catalan later employed him as an organist at the San Pedro Parish Church in Cavite. Felipe also taught music at a girls’ school, La Sagrada Familia.

JOSE MARI CHAN Chan was born on 11 March 1945 in Iloilo City. He took up
Bachelor of Arts in Economic at the Ateneo de Manila University and graduated in 1967. A year earlier, he first showcased his singing talent in the local scene as the host and singer of a television show called "9 Teeners" of ABS-CBN. Banking on this exposure, he released his first single Afterglow in 1967, his first song to hit the top of the charts. It was followed by his first long playing album Deep in My Heart in 1969 which also scored a success. His popularity made him the country's bet for the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, Japan, where he sang his composition Can We Just Stop and Talk A While. He was awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of the Philippines a year later for his achievements.

Nilo Alcala (b Manila, 23 February 1978) is a Filipino composer and chorister. Alcala
graduated BS Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (BSDC 1999) prior to his admission in 2001 to the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Music (BM 2007) where he graduated magna
cum laude. His major composition teachers were Josefino ‘Chino’ Toledo and Ramόn P.
Santos.

• Reynaldo Valera Guardiano (better known as Rey Valera) (born May 4, 1954 in Meycauayan, Bulacan, Philippines) is a well-known singer, songwriter, music director, film scorer and television host from the Philippines. He wrote and produced songs that were recorded by various singers, most notably Sharon Cuneta. He was a former host of the variety noontime show Pilipinas Win na Win alongside Rico J. Puno, Nonoy Zuniga and Marco Sison.

• Snaffu Rigor (born Roberto Nicholas Rigor, August 8, 1946) is a Filipino composer and vocalist.
• He started composing in 1964. His first recorded Tagalog composition was "T.L Ako Sa'yo", a hit by Cinderella in 1975; he also wrote the lyrics to Ernani Cruz's "Bato sa Buhangin" and the English version of "Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi". Rigor was a member of the bands Ramrods, Cinderella, Backdoor and Blackbuster, and heads the Domestic A&R of Blackgold.

FRANCISCO SANTIAGO• Francisco Santiago (January 29, 1889 – September 28,
1947), was a Filipino musician, sometimes called The Father of Kundiman Art Song.
• Santiago was born in Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines, to musically-minded peasant parents, Felipe Santiago and Maria Santiago. In 1908, his first composition, Purita, was dedicated to the first Carnival Queen, Pura Villanueva, who later married the distinguished scholar Teodoro Kalaw.
• Santiago's masterpiece was the "Concerto in B flat minor" for pianoforte and orchestra and his most famous piece "Kundiman, (Anak-Dalita)".

FRANCISCO SANTIAGO• His other compositions are the kundiman "Sakali Man", "Hibik ng
Filipinas", "Pakiusap", "Ang Pag-ibig", "Suyuan", "Alaala Kita", "Ikaw at Ako", "Ano Kaya ang Kapalaran?", "Hatol Hari Kaya?", "Sakali't Mamatay", "Dalit ng Pag-ibig", "Aking Bituin", "Madaling Araw" and "Pagsikat ng Araw". He was named UP Emeritus Professor of Piano, on May 25, 1946. When the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music was celebrating its 30th anniversary, the patriotic musician died of a heart attack. He was buried at the North Cemetery, Manila. A hall in the Head Office of BDO( former PCIBank Twin Towers) was named in his honor as the Francisco Santiago Hall. It was mainly used for kundiman contests of the Makati City Government and the awarding of Service Awards of the former Equitable PCIBank and PCIBank.

• Emilio Villareal, also fondly called Maestro Mil, by his constituents as well as the talented singers he mentored over the years, is one of Cebu’s most talented composers and musicians. Born in Boljo-on, Cebu in 1920, Mil was one of several children born to Chinese and Spanish immigrants. The gift of music was one shared by several siblings, but it was Mil whose career spanned several decades and to this day, is still alive in spite of his advanced years.

EMILIO VILLAREAL• In Mil’s early musical years, he started as the school Band
Director of the University of San Carlos (1946–1948). He moved on to becoming a staff pianist and eventually, the Musical Director of Cebu Broadcasting Company (1948–1982). With the advent of television, he was picked as the Musical Directo of Channel 7’s “Sali Kami” (1983–1988). During this time, he was also the Band Leader of the Aristocrats Orchestra and DYRC Orchestra. During this time, his reputation for composing some of the most memorable songs in Visayan history flourished. Among the most unforgettable ones was Bisan sa Damgo Lang, a song popularized and sung by Pilita Corrales, the Philippines’ foremost female ballad singer.
