John Herschel Glenn, Jr.
• Born July 18, 1921 in Cambridge Ohio.
• Attended Muskingum College.
John Herschel Glenn, Jr.• Was the first American to orbit the Earth• The NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at
Lewis Field in Cleveland, Ohio is named after him.

Neil Armstrong
• Neil Alden Armstrong was born on August 5,1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
• He got a degree in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University.
Neil Armstrong• On July 20, 1969 Mr. Armstrong and fellow
astronaut Edwin Aldrin successfully touched down on the moon.
• He and Aldrin explored the Moon's surface for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Buzz Aldrin• Was born July 18th 1921• Once hated homework but he loved
football but his dad intervened and he gave up football.
• In the early 1960’s was when he started his job with NASA as they selected him to be one of the early astronauts

James Lovell• James Arthur Lovell, Jr. was born on
March 25, 1928.• Is a NASA astronaut who flew on two
Gemini missions (Gemini 7 and Gemini 12) orbiting the Earth and also two Apollo trips on which he circled the moon.
Halton Christian Arp • An American Astronomer.• Arp was born in New York and
educated at Harvard and the California Institute of Technology
• Arp has attempted to relate the listings of galaxies to radio sources
Nicholas Copernicus• Nicholas Copernicus (1473 -
1543) was a Polish astronomer, well known for his Copernican theory.
• His theory stated that sun rest near the center of the universe, and the earth, which spun daily on its axis, revolved annually around the sun.
Kathryn Thornton• Kathryn Thornton was born in
Montgomery, Alabama.
• She received a bachelor's in
physics from Auburn University
in 1974.
• Completing her training in
1985, Thornton has spent over
593 hours in space, including
21 hours of spacewalks.
Eugene Cernan• Captain Eugene Cernan
was one of the fourteen astronauts selected by NASA in October 1963.
• He occupied the pilot seat alongside of command pilot Tom Stafford on the Gemini XI mission
