There is a three step process for doing temple and family history work. Look at the diagram on page 6 of your manual.

Family history consultants are called and set apart by the bishop or branch president to assist with temple and family history work. Consultants may teach family history classes and provide one-on-one help. They can help you get started, answer your questions along the way, and help you use theFamilySearch Internet site and other resources.
