Hope Cottage has been building families through education, counseling and adoption services since 1918. We currently are seeking an experienced professional to work with families and support them as adoptive parents in Dallas and surrounding counties. This position is critical to ensuring children have safe and caring homes and parents that will nurture their growth, both physically and emotionally. Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing prospective parents from inquiry through placement. This position conducts home studies and initial training to ensure families meet standards for licensing and carries an average caseload of 15 families. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for children and adoption. They will be self- disciplined and self-motivated to meet the needs of families and children. Success in this position requires strict adherence to regulations as set forth in Texas Department of Family and Protective Service Minimum Standards for Child Placing Agencies and the ability to work collaboratively within the team. Minimum Education Required: Bachelor Degree in Social Work or another mental health discipline from an accredited university. Required Experience: A minimum of two years’ working with families and children, with preference for experience in a Child Placing Agency. Practice in conducting home studies preferred. Other requirements: Knowledge about adoption or the ability to learn necessary skills in a reasonable and agreed upon timeframe. Must be self-directed and self-motivated and able to function effectively with minimal supervision and must be eligible as child placing staff. This position will conduct a portion of duties on line through Zoom, Teams and other digital platforms. Requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance and have regular access to a reliable automobile for use on agency business across a multi-county area. Travel is reimbursed at the current federal rate per mile. Compensation and Benefits: This position accrues 3 weeks paid vacation, 12 holidays and 12 days sick leave annually. The agency provides term life insurance and long term disability and covers a major portion of employee health insurance. Other voluntary benefits are available.
