Family Access
Guide
Kiona-Benton City
School District
Family Access Overview
Family Access and Student Access allow guardians and students to access student information
over the internet via a secured web connection. These modules help families to be more
involved in their student’s education and improve communication with the school. Various
applications within Family and Student Access allow students and/or their guardians to check
attendance and grade history, view messages from their teachers or advisors, see test scores,
among other things.
Skyward also has a mobile app. Information is available on our website.
Logging in to Family Access
The login screen for Kiona-Benton City School District families is found on the Parents
tab, then Skyward Family Access link, of each school’s webpage at http://www.kibesd.org
Enter the login name and password provided by the district. New families will receive an email
with that information. A single login will allow you to view information for each child in your
family.
Your login ID is comprised of the email address you provide the school district or you can also
use the login ID which is your first name, a period and your last name (example: John.Doe)
Passwords are case sensitive.
Retrieving Your Login or Password
When you log in for the first time, you will need to create a password to one of your choosing by
clicking on the “Forgot your Login/Password?” link.
If you have forgotten your login and/or password, you can retrieve them if you have provided
your email address to the school district. To do so:
1. Click the “Forgot your Login/Password?” hyperlink on the login page.
2. Type your email address and click “Submit.”
If the system successfully identifies you, a confirmation page appears and an email containing
your login and password will be sent to your email address on file. If the system can’t identify
you, contact your child’s school to have the correct email address added to your account.
My Account The My Account screen displays account settings, address information, and email notification
options. A dropdown allows you to view information on one child at a time, or all of your
children at once.
Guardians can elect to receive email notifications when their grade in a class is below a certain
threshold and/or they are missing an assignment. These options vary by school and grade
level.
Language Selection Google Translator provides a guardian the option to translate Family Access screens into one of
80 different languages. Please be aware that selecting a language may result in some translation
divergence from the original intent.

A navigation tree runs down the left side of the screen, allowing access to
