Falmouth Exeter Plus recognises its responsibility to carry out activities in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, whilst also encouraging healthy and sustainable food production and consumption.

SOURCING; we will provide ethical and responsible sourcing

buying from locally and family run businesses (West Country) to support local producers and reduce environmental impacts. For example every Wednesday the veggie market and the herb and allotment/garden for everyone to use

sourcing sustainable and local seafood to help reduce the negative impacts on fish stocks and protect our marine environment

purchasing high welfare meat and diary fairtrade; tea, coffee beans, bananas and some of our confectionary from September 2018 (ESI Café) we reduce the usage of single use

plastic – all compostable no plastic bottles…

ENVIRONMENT; we will look at the resources that our business consumes and what happens to what is left behind

engage suppliers to improve awareness of the universities sustainable procurement policy and to encourage them to improve and report on their environmental performance

minimise our carbon footprint; utilise our resources efficiently for example water

manage our waste and recycling efficiently according to the prevention-disposal hierarchy

identify water fountains (map) reduce single use plastic across the campuses

COMMUNITY; engage with the community, treat people fairly and promoting healthy eating

we change menus every 3 weeks ensure menus are well balanced; for example meat free options promote healthier options to our customers local catering vans onsite treating employees fairly staff awards avoid Greenwashing at all time
