AQUA FITNESS EARLY MORNING LAP WALKING & JOGGING(Ages 8 & over) Water walking/jogging is an easy, low-impact exercise that can provide an aerobics workout while also strengthening and building muscles by using the water’s resistance. The water’s buoyancy supports the body’s weight, which reduces stress on the joints and minimizes pain. H20 TO GO *(Ages 14 & over) If you are raring to go at the crack of dawn you’re not alone. Finish your workout in time for the morning drive. A mix of shallow and deep-water aerobics class, you’ll get your body pumping! Instructor will use a variety of equipment to tone and strengthen your whole body. MASTERS SWIM(Ages 18 & Over)Open to all adult swimmers (fitness, tri- athlete, competitive, and non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their fitness through swimming. Within the program, structured workouts from the coach offer valuable training assistance along with stroke and technique general instruction. This program is designed to help swimmers improve fitness and/or train for specific goals, and offer active support for a healthy lifestyle through friendship and camaraderie. Swim for Life! AQUATICS PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS (Ages 4 - 17) Is your child having a hard time adjusting to the water or not grasping the concept of a certain swim stroke? Private swim lessons will offer your child the instruction he/she will need to reach their goals. Regardless of age, ability or goals, we have the lessons for you! Please allow two weeks for placement with an instructor who fits your needs. Registrations will only be accepted after you have been assigned an instructor. ADULT SWIM LESSONS (Ages 18 & Over) Opportunity Meets Desire - It’s never too late to become a swimmer! Learn beginning skills in a small class environment that is individualized to meet your needs. Class is designed for non-swimmers to learn basic water adjustment skills – floats, glides and basic front crawl stroke and back stroke. This class is appropriate for adults who cannot swim 25-meters of the pool.

BEGINNING DIVING(Ages 8 – 13)In this class the foundations of proper springboard diving are taught. Safety, diving board approach and hurdle, water entry and basic competitive dives are covered. Participants must be 8 years of age and must be able to swim comfortably in deep water for enrollment. ARC LIFEGUARD RE-CERTIFICATION (Ages 15 & over) This class allows you to review your lifeguard skills and obtain re-certification without having to retake the whole course! In the lifeguard review course you will practice and test out on all the necessary life-saving skills taught in the official Red Cross Lifeguarding course. These include, but are not limited to: CPR/AED skills, water rescue skills, spinal injury treatment and first aid. You must have a current lifeguard certification to participate in this course. FAMILY SWIM (All Ages) Spend some quality time with your family at the pool. This program is free to members. Non-members pay a fee of $5.00 per family, immediate family under 18 only please. Children must be accompanied by adults and adults must by accompanied by children. Children not potty trained MUST wear an approved reusable swim diaper purchased at the Field House front desk or brought from home. (Family is deemed as 2 adults and children under 18 living within the same household.) No pre- registration required. SPORTS & REC MENOMONIE BASEBALL HISTORY(Ages 8 & over)We will dive into Menomonie’s past by learning the history of baseball and its connection to Dunn County. The Menomonie Blue Caps baseball team took the field for the first time in 1883. In this session you will learn about the past and present of Menomonie’s Blue Caps baseball team and get a first hand look at how baseball was played in the early days. CAMPS/CLINICS LIL’ MUSTANGS TENNIS CAMP(Ages 5 – 8)Learn a lifelong sport with instructors from the MHS Girls Tennis team. This is a fun, engaging program that teaches the fundamentals of tennis including hand-eye coordination, back and forehand strokes, simple games where points are scored, cooperative activities, basic rules, care of equipment, and sportsmanship. Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes and dress for the weather. Racquets and balls provided. MTB DIRT CLINIC (Ages 8 – 13)Want to get your kid in a really fun and active outdoor sport? Kids will learn the basics of safely riding their mountain bikes, while learning the technical skills to help them progress out on the trails. Learn how to climb and safely go down hills while rolling over small logs and roots, and riding through twisty trails. This class will help kids with balance while learning the basic rules of mountain biking to keep them safe. You will need your bike, helmet, a super stoked attitude and some way to stay hydrated (water bottle or hydration pack).

LIL’ MUSTANGS DANCE CAMP(Ages 5 -12) Join the MHS Varsity Dance Team for three days of fun! Dancers will be split into age appropriate groups and will learn routines and dance techniques. Participants will perform the routine they learn at halftime of the MHS Varsity basketball game on December 16th at 7:15 pm. Please meet at 7 pm in the Field House cardio room on that night. Each participant will receive a set of poms and a t-shirt. Please wear movable clothing, hair tied back and dance/tennis shoes. You must register by Friday, November 11th to receive a t-shirt and poms. Like to work with School Aged Children? Want to earn money (up to $429 per year) to help
pay your property taxes?
If you can answer yes to these questions, we have a great
opportunity for you. The School District participates in a program called “Senior Tax Exchange Program” (STEP). This program places paid
volunteers in classrooms of all ages in our district schools. You have flexibility in hours,
ages of children, the building in which you would work, etc. You can work a maximum of
59 hours per year.

Starting Monday, August 29, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. all programs listed in this brochure will be available for on-line, walk-in and mail-in registration.

Program fee discount on a number of classes when you sign-up and have a Field House Membership (FHM) Individuals who have bought and paid for a yearly membership to the MHS Field House for the 2016-2017 year. All individuals must first fill out a membership form at the MHS Field House office before classes begin including district staff and MHS students.
CLASS CONFIRMATIONS
When you register online, you will receive an email confirmation. For all other registration methods, Field House Dept. does not send class confirmations. Assume you are in the class and that it will be held at the time and place indicated. We will contact you by email if there is a change. Please list an up
to date email address so we can reach you if a class is cancelled. Community Ed assumes no responsibility for reaching those who do not provide a email address.

We cancelled it because we didn’t know you were coming! Sometimes excellent courses are cancelled when too many people wait until the last minute to register. Please avoid disappointment and try to register at least one week before the course starts.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel a registration, you must notify us at 715-232-1197 at least 5 business days before the class begins and your fee will be refunded. Full refunds will be issued for classes that are cancelled by Community Ed. Refunds will not be given within 5 business days of the start or after the class has started. This policy is necessary for us to provide the best customer service.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Check our website. If school is delayed, cancelled or let out early due to weather or any other reasons, all community education classes and Field House activities will also be cancelled as well.
