BIG IDEA: iPhone technology mimics the way that people communicate; as a result people form relationships with their phones.
MAIN MESSAGES:
• Because people use their iPhones to organize their lives and maintain connections with friends and family, the iPhone begins to embody existing relationships with loved ones.
• An iPhone can be customized to the point that it seems like a unique individual.
• The design of Apple products rewards loyal customers and fosters product relationships.
EXHIBIT GOALS: • Visitors will learn about the technology
features of the iPhone that Make it seem almost human
• Visitors will understand that people develop an emotional connection with their iPhones
• Visitors will reflect on their own relationship to technology

PANEL 1: Corner Confessional In each corner of the room, there will be a flat screen monitor mounted to a built in wall. The Monitor will play movies on a loop of people talking about their iPhones and responding to prompts. The wall will feature two sets of hanging headphones, plus addi<onal headphone jacks, so that visitors can insert their own headphones Corner 1 (in between “The First Date” and “Meet Friends and Family”): Par<cipants will share a person story about buying their first iPhone. Corner 2 (in between “Meet Friends and Family” and “Moving In”): Par<cipants will share a personal story about how their iPhone has helped them stay connected to friends and family. Corner 3 (in between “Moving In” and “GeLng ‘Sirious’”): Par<cipants will share their reac<ons to the ques<on, “Are you in love with your iPhone?”

“It’s always by my side”

PANEL 2: Siri Screenshots These will include screenshots submiRed by actual iPhone users. They will display Siri’s intelligence and personality. The display of the screenshots is very organized and makes them appear to be all the same. Visitors who read the conversa<ons between Siri and iPhone users will see just how unique Siri can be .

PANEL 3: Double Date Café The Double Date Café will feature a gallery interpreter who will invite visitors to have a seat and play around with their iPhones. In par<cular, the interpreter will show visitors specific apps, games, or features (such as Bump) of iPhones that help them interact with other iPhone users. The museum could have some iPod touches available to rent, for those visitors that do not have iPhones. The space will be surrounded by par<al walls that are The space should evoke the look and feel of the Genius Bar that exists at Apple Stores. The space will feature high wooden tables and black stools arranged so that a pair of people can go on a double date with their iPhones. The outer walls will be par<al, allowing visitors siLng at the bar to observe other visitors.
